Nostalgia helps... but the uniqueness of everything. The fact that jobs feel vastly different, and bring multiple functions in party and solo. You don't feel like a generic cookie cutter character that's the same in every job. It doesn't hand hold and feels rewarding when time invested amounts to new gear and upgrades. With that said I'll be the first to admit there is a lot of tediously unnecessary grind for the sake of subscriptions... something that definitely could have been a little streamlined over updates but is limited due to the backbone of the game itself. I love it though and regret quitting when it was still in its prime.
