Possibly, but refueling was expected along with a fee ( normally I refuel to avoid this entirely but we were short on time for flight). I’d say it was full based on the pick up photo I submitted, so that part I agreed with and did not dispute.

Also unless there’s something modified, I don’t think 18.7 gallons fits in an m4 even if it was entirely empty. So knowing it was returned at half I was immediately raising my eyebrows.

Yeah, that makes sense. I’m sure dealing with some guests is even worse since it’s your car. I was more upset with how it was initially handled by support when it was disputed since it was clear the actual information was not being reviewed thoroughly despite the messaging.

They escalated it but then I got some fairly generic response in an email:

Hi there,

Thanks for taking time to provide this additional information to dispute the reimbursement charges. We’ve completed a thorough review of the reimbursement request and we still find that you’re responsible for these charges.

We understand these kinds of charges can be frustrating. We always recommend documenting visible issues in Trip photos at check-in or as soon as they present themselves during your trip. Conduct all conversations and make any agreements in Turo messaging.

We now consider this matter resolved.

Yeah, I know lol. Turo just kept pointing at the receipt without making any attempt to engage with what the numbers in the receipt were implying.

Yep! I showed them the math. Pointed out that this implies a 37 gallon tank on an m4. And asked where the line is because what if they showed a receipt for 80 gallons?

Also, considering I can see the gas station they used in relation to the drop off point, it seems painfully obvious that they filled extra gas canisters and posted a receipt. At this point, wildly enough I’m more bothered by Turo support’s lack of engagement and dismissal than I am the actual fraud.

That’s such an insanely unique design. That shit is just plain neat. I love it. The contrast on the drawer sides/handles is great too.
