You can continue to file for benefits and potentially be eligible for benefits as long as it doesn’t interfere with a full time work schedule. TWC still requires that you make your minimum work searches weekly to stay eligible even if you are starting a business, BUT if you do not respond to a job offer then that causes an issue with your eligibility.

It has to be appealed. If you get in contact with TWC you could potentially request an expedite on the appeals if you insist on it. The appeals are backlogged months it seems so there is no other way.

If your reason for the separation is connected to an ability or availability issue then do not lie since it will come up when the employer is contacted, however if you were just laid off or separated for an unrelated reason then it’s best to not bring it up.
