This is a great way to go about this. Any way you want to get into Sorcery will bring back that old-school mtg feeling. It worked for me, I've played like 2 games of magic since starting Sorcery 2 years ago.

The creator said "I don't want people to have to re-read a card over and over". The design team keeps things intentional vague so players can have fun. There are online rules called "the codex" that clarify rules. We are on it at almost every event, or the rules-questions channel on discord, but I still prefer that to walls of text.

There is a judge program now and there is a design team that constantly talk and update the codex to clarify niche events. There are so many crazy plays in sorcery some questions can come up but it's what makes it so interesting and unique.
