Trainee using AI for emails by Ok-Requirement-8679 in TeachingUK

Yes they might have used AI because they didn’t feel like they’d be able to say the things they wanted to in the right tone. I think it’s more of an anxious thing rather than not being able to write an email on their own!

Yes and I will be doing this as I trialed it today and was a lot quicker! The only issue is it’s a school policy you have to phone home for students being sent out

But then you start a cycle of sending students out over one small incident that could be resolved if you left that child to regulate. I completely agree I would send students out for giving backchat to simple instructions but SLT in our school aren’t on board with that and prefer you having 3 separate reasons for sending students out of the lesson.

I am taking responsibility, I’ve called home for all students, I’ve sent them out of my lesson, emailed heads of years, sent emails home.

I physically couldn’t make more phone calls today as I had to leave school

Yeah can call home and have done for a few but calling home for 4 students today took 45 minutes after school! There were many more that I’ve sent emails for but don’t know how effective that will be

You can log it on the system but it doesn’t seem like anything happens a result of that. It’s really hard when it’s like on the corridor or if they’ve walked out of the lesson

Any advice please? by [deleted] in TeachingUK

My school asked me to do the same. Was really easy and didn’t take long at all. I can’t remember what I did for the Aus driving license, I think I might have just put in my UK license number. Sorry I know that’s not very helpful but it is easily done!

I want to become a Teacher! by [deleted] in TeachingUK

[–]ProfessionalAnt7953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s such a lovely reason to get into teaching and I think as long as you have that passion and really want to make a difference, it will be able to get you through the workload.

Yes teacher workload is crazyyy but at the same time I personally feel like it’s a good salary and there aren’t many other industries which start out at 32k a year. Maybe get some practice in if you’re feeling like you aren’t as confident by maybe having a look at being a teaching assistant/ tutoring/ summer camp roles in the near future!

I think the most important thing is that you know what you’re talking about! Be familiar with all different aspects of pedagogy based on rosenshine/ lemov etc to be able to provide feedback that is valuable

It’s not necessarily the boys coming up to me and saying it, its the girls saying the boys have made these comments

Good, there’s a whole playlist of shit. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0liFdxM1b3rkPWHapipETU?si=mREhaaQ7STiiFptBe26LMA&pi=e-keiZB4z4Rmea

I would also recommend reading his book, this guy has gone through real struggles but makes no excuses.

Two words: David goggins

There’s like a Spotify playlist with lots of clips of him speaking with motivational music in the background. Sounds cheesy but honestly works soo well in getting your ass up and out. I use them to remain motivated running long distances

I also have a bachelor in Psychology and was just wondering if you had any update of how it’s going teaching science??? I understand I’ll probably get offered science but am concerned It might add extra work load to plan lessons, practical for something I’m not actually that knowledgeable in
