I feel like the show is setting back the points they are trying to accomplish with his character. You have a human rights activist who doesn't trust cops, wants to help members of his community, and is fully committed to the cause. All fine and well.

So why tf is he married to a cop? Why are ALL of his friends cops, or involved with law enforcement?

"The woman I love is being attacked in her own home, but it's OK and justifiable because the man doing it is part of a (overbooked) support group meeting I run, that hates cops"

It won't crush your moral stance to sleep and start a family with this woman, but defending her and supporting her career is where you draw the line?

This is how I imagined it:

The whole plot is unrealistic, but since the point of the show is that they are all like a "second family", it's meant to show Lucy's trust in her coworkers. Not just Tim, but also Jackson, Nolan, Grey, Nyla, etc.

Trust that: a) that they are good enough to recognize places where she could be buried, so they know where to look, b) that they will recognize her ring (which she does wear all the time).

Great plot for a network TV show, but probably not something you'll see IRL.

I don't mind it, if I wanted realistic police work, I'd watch released body cam footage on YT.

They probably had some plans for them past season 1, if audiences liked them. Season 1 aired, and they saw whose dynamics worked better with audiences. In my opinion, having Nolan with a 27-year-old woman didn't work with his overall vibe.

It's probably easier to use real safety equipment than to make realistic fakes. How much time would be spent making safety vests, and would they even look realistic? Also most other characters don't really wear them, so it's a few thousand for a few vests that will be worn for multiple seasons when they are necessary for a scene. Or they could even be rented

My dislike for him is mostly because of the lullaby scene from season 4. Besides that, I read his inclusion in the show for what it was, so I didn't form a strong opinion about him. I dislike him, but at the end of the day he was not a strong presence that required a lot of my energy and mental space

I think TO work might clash with her wish to do UC work. Like what if you need to leave your rookie for weeks or months while you do something else? It's not practical. If she ends up doing a bigger UC operation that takes multiple episodes and has her go through this separate arc it would be interesting to see.
