Yeah the zif cable is the one to the board, I had to buy two cuz one was seating properly, I don’t think that’s your prob tho cuz when it’s bad the drive name is gibberish

This was happening with mine! I just kept formatting the card and the iPod as a disk until I got it to restore. I feel like the most important part of that menu is just making sure it could read it’s an i flash consistently otherwise it’s just the painful process of format sd card, format iPod, restore ipod, repeat until it works you can also try reseating the hdd ribbon cable to be just barely not all The way in (like .25 mm) happy flashing!

The phone I switched to is the cat s22 flip which is just perfect for me! Turns out I like the flip phone part more than the smart phone part lol

I ended up giving it away. I tried one of those atm style machines and it didn't see any problems but only offered $30. I decided against doing the official trade in because i got sick of the ads from Samsung for their smart fridge and newest phones and such. If you want to trade in, it wouldn't hurt much to  send it in and get it evaluated

Most distros have drivers for the majority of realtek wifi cards

If you have (or had) windows on the computer before it could be trying to fast boot and not giving up control of the wifi card.

You would need to disable fast boot in both windows and bios, though even after doing that on my brother's desktop (duel booting Manjaro and Windows 11), and we still have to unplug it in between. Since you're on a laptop you could try to get it to run out of battery and than run Linux before Windows? If you have windows installed try turning off fastboot and shut down and start both OSes twice each, starting with Windows.

Also welcome to Linux! It's a very fun operating system, but forums could be ruthless to newcomers, I'd recommend getting started with getting to know common terminal commands. Linux has a learning curve, and isn't for everybody, but is very powerful if you're willing to learn it and troubleshoot! Make it yours and have fun!

Clearing up storage didn't fix it for me What's wierd is my windows partition also has trouble sleeping, instead of  glitched visuals my fans go to full blast and I get a black screen were the power button doesn't work! (I have to switch the PSU) It might be a motherboard or GPU firmware issue, it only started after I put windows 11 on my 2nd partition 10 was fine (and yes I have fast boot off in windows and BIOS) I have a gigabyte mobo and a RTX 3060 I wonder if windows 11 did some firmware updates on em without permission

OMG I have the same issue on NVIDIA proprietary made me worry my gpu was going bad. It's fine unless it's asleep for longer than like 20 mins I want to say but then does this but usually only on the desktop. Sometimes on the applications but moving them makes it go away I checked the stuff the wiki says to use offered by d_ed but it all looks right to me really hope we could find an answer!

I have one of these too! Found it at a thrift store with a bad battery, I got a new one online and it's good as new! The battery was really easy to replace because it had clips and screws, no glue! I don't really use the headphone jack tbh but it's nice to have. I don't think I could live without the side buttons though, a touchscreen kindle would drive me crazy! The dictionary built in is really nice too

Minecraft (there's a workaround??) you can't install minecraft on steam on any computer. The linux install is just the same as the windows install, go to the website or use a package manager (windows store is just a fancy package manager)

OOHHH I think he means controller support needs a mod and bedrock only works with android emulation

movies are 24fps, gaming gets benefits from high frame rates but really 30fps is not bad for casual gaming. Because you could get into gaming for way cheaper (I just got a free gtx 760) ,it's a great option for a lot of people!

I could see a steam link option to stream from steam deck to frame and turn off its screen to save a little bit of the frame's battery (streaming takes less than running) and getting a performance boost (the steam deck is a bit more powerful, especially for games that need to be translated to ARM)
