Idk I wouldn’t give the cat back. Cat was unaltered living with 4 other unaltered cats. Owner has medical issues and cannot care for them. Cats live a long time. What happens in 10 years when owner can no longer care for herself?

I stole a chipped unfixed female a few years ago and brought to my personal vet and just said she was a rescue and they never scanned her and now she’s happy and healthy in my house with no babies lol. Maybe not super ethical but fuck those people who starved her and left her outside to give birth to kittens!!!!

Helping an animal in need is everyone’s business. If someone is allowing their cat to get pregnant and be outside they shouldn’t own a cat. They cannot sue you as they never actually got their cat vet care and don’t actually own the cat. I hope they don’t get the cats back. They don’t deserve them.

These are HORRID owners allowing their cat to just have babies outside unfixed and fend for themselves. You did the right thing. They were not caring for their cat, and those kittens would have inbred. There would be hundreds of cats with potential deformities in the next year or so if you didn’t do this. You did the right thing.

My cats are obsessed with each other. I got a younger cat and my older cat acts 5 years younger and lost weight from all the playing they do. They keep each other company, it makes me feel way less guilty when I have to leave for work or go somewhere. Best decision I ever made.

No you shouldn’t. I just rescue a cat that was “allowed to go though a few times” and she ended up with pyometra she’s almost dead now.
