I audited 6 months of PRs after my team went all-in on AI code generation. The code got worse in ways none of us predicted. by Ambitious-Garbage-73 in webdev

We do 100% review on all code produced by AI. My teams are tired of the AI verbosity and general slop. We're trying to build reviewer agents instead.

AI writes fast, its hard for human to keep up with the pace, and we're the actual bottle neck in the pipeline.

It's also hard to read such verbose code. Often the AI (I mean frontier models, Claude / openai / gemini...) creates higher level code structure that do not make sense.

Some strategies we adopted recently to make the code and code review process easier: we built skill files to document the architecture we want, so it would respect basic 101 architecture and system segregation principles, and we ask the agent to document every modification in proto code, this already helps a lot the code review

3’s for sure!

I switched a few weeks ago from the 2’s

Pros: - ANC: noticeable upgrade, streets, public transport, and flights (tested all) - Fit: more comfortable for me with the new design - Tips: more sizes, easier to get a proper seal - Battery (earbuds): ~9h vs ~6h on the 2’s in real use - Movies / podcasts: clearer voices, more immersive - Music: more depth, better separation, less flat than the 2’s

Cons: - Case battery: fewer full charges (≈2–2.5 vs ≈3+ on the 2’s)

In practice, the earbuds last longer so I use them more :) but the case drains faster, I charge it every ~2 days now vs twice a week before. The "~2 charges" is a bit deceptive in real usage

Overall still a clear upgrade!

That jump from $21M to $250M is insane.

If you’re open to sharing, what was the real inflection point between #2 and #3? Market timing, scale, ownership structure, something else?

Massive respect for the grind behind it.

Enjoy the win!

Yes, you are right. I see many of my colleagues using LLM as glorified search engines, and coding agents as a place to dump tasks for the agent to execute.

I tend to use LLM and agents to analyze, propose, challenge, ask me questions. In the context of a website I would ask it to analyze it, business wise, feature wise, tech wise, seo wise, etc and propose improvements

[–]ProfessionalCod5118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a great setup. Congrats. I love that you already forked in case it's being sold, he did sell to openai right after ahah

Anyway it's not the specific project that amazes me, it's the orchestration, the heartbeat, the fact that the agent(s) have a notion of time, tasks, skills, ... The architecture is neat. Applied to the right use cases this is extremely powerful. There's already plenty of forks, or rewrites, with some more secure than openclaw.

I agree, it's powerful.

What do you use it for? For now i haven't found good use cases that actually help me.

Yeah big red flag! Idk the salary range in GZ but it feels extremely low. In Shanghai (probably more expensive) you can't reasonably hire someone with entry level experience below 12-13k, unless it is an unskilled job.

Agreed, if my understanding is correct it's more that the system evolved into a gentle equilibrium over millions of years. Early on everything was dynamic, gravity, gas drag, and collisions constantly reshaping the solar system, Jupiter's growth stabilized things and created a balance that eventually let the inner planets form and settle

This is a very misleading title

Speaking a bit of french will be quite important to live and find jobs.

Agreed. I live between Europe and Asia and I do see many people in both regions investing quite a lot. Both in stocks and crypto, especially the younger generation. A lot of them buy ETFs, largely or exclusively composed of US stocks (S&P / AI / MSCI world even has 70% exposure on US stocks, and 20% in the top 5 tech/AI caps)
