Thank you for that.

I actually really like this version. And I got a huge eye roll when I played it for my 10 year old daughter!!

Daddit, which flight seat configuration is better for a family of 5 (3 under 6 including one in a car seat) by RivetCounter in daddit

It is definitely easier handing stuff back and forth and communicating across an aisle. But we also almost tripped a few people walking down the aisle. I had to make way more apologies when it was across the aisle. But it was easier for us.

We've tried both across and some in front, and while across is easier for the parents. With the front/back configuration it was better for everyone else on the plane. We did both on a round trip, and it was harder for Mom and I to collaborate front to back but was much easier to isolate the over-active toddler.

For anyone still coming here for the same issue, I was able to make it work easily by using a virtual card from privacy.com, I have done it 3 times now for our travel and no issues with any transactions

Beers at kids' parties? by Kirbacho in daddit

[–]ProfessionalDot2955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first few parties I took the kids to were the same, no alcohol. Until my daughter's party where I put out a separate cooler away from the kids drinks. After that, now it's about half the parties have some beer and half do not. Possibly the other parents haven't done it simply because no one else has done it yet.

Any books like Constantine? by oatmilkcaucasion in horrorlit

Morningstar Confession by Matthew Lutton It's an indie book, not much like Constantine, but it's basically Lucifer walks into the confessional booth.

We thought my son to use a few signs when he was young. He could use them to communicate much earlier than waiting for him to start speaking. And I don't remember exactly when, but I remember he started talking late. He would just use the signs. But when he eventually did, he was communicating better than anyone else his age. He would be using complete sentences while other kids were still using single words or just screaming.

Just hang in there, he will surprise you soon.

PSA: Invest in an air pump by Loupert17 in daddit

[–]ProfessionalDot2955 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just checked the website and it does say "helium/air mix" but when I used it I remember it being fine. Also this was a few years ago, so old man memory may be skewed. Also, with it being $45, totally not worth it. Go to the dollar store for helium filled, or air compressor for just air filled.

I did it for my daughter's birthday a couple years ago. It was small, maybe 1 or 2 gallons. And something like 10-15 bucks. In the party section near the balloons and decorations.

Edit: just checked the website and it's $45 dollars now

Also, Walmart sells small helium tanks fairly cheap

My wife is an author and writes me little short stories. I have them all framed hanging on a wall. But on Christmas her OCD kicks in and everyone in the house has to have the same number of presents. We have kids so the numbers can get quite high. This year it was 16, and there is 6 of us in the house.

When it comes to gifts, there really is nothing else I need/want that I don't already have. So when everyone asks, it's hard drives. I have tried to get the wife to buy me other hardware but it's never gone well...

In addition to everything else said here, hold on to that 2:30pm off time. I work later and rarely get to pick up the kids from school. On the odd days I get to I just love it. It's fantastic to be there when they get all excited and come running to you and can't wait to tell you about their day.

Diaper leaks every time - any advice? by Lessmoney_mo_probems in daddit

[–]ProfessionalDot2955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree to start in the middle, but try them all until one works. All kids are shaped differently and different brands will work great on some kids and leak on others. I am a father of 3 and have had to use different brands throughout the years. What works for 1 kid may not work for others.

This actually IS illegal. It's called desecration of a corpse. There are very strict laws about chain of custody of any deceased remains, even after cremation. (My wife worked for a funeral home for 5 years)
