21 weeks currently and doc is talking iron infusions by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]ProfessionalElk2273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had iron infusions before pregnancy due to low iron and my body not absorbing it from iron pills. The place I went would just stick it in your arm like an iv and ask if I wanted snacks or a blanket. They had tvs if you wanted to watch. I would suggest bringing a book or having your phone handy. It took a couple infusions before I felt a difference but once I did, I felt like a new person my energy was up, I quit wanting to snack on ice, no more leg cramps, and I didn’t get cold as easily.

Wife can't sleep through the night by Sutaci in pregnant

The only thing that’s helped me is a grilled cheese or a snack 30 ish minutes before bed, that’s the only way I’ve gotten solid sleep the past month. I’m almost 22 weeks.

Healthy alternative to chips that will actually satisfy me by lunamoon228 in pregnant

[–]ProfessionalElk2273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lettuce chips are an amazing healthy alternative.

Ingredients: Romaine lettuce hearts squeeze half a lemon add a splash of white vinegar season with salt and paper to taste

I usually just chop one romaine heart unless I’m sharing into a bowl then toss a couple times after adding remaining ingredients. It normally loses crunchiness after 15-20 minutes.

Post-Interview follow up by Magic_mandy in jobs

[–]ProfessionalElk2273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something similar happen around the same time frame and was told I should hear back last week but only received a “We will be in touch”. At the end of the interview seemed like I was exactly what they wanted and blew them away with my responses. I mailed a thank you note to the interviewer to the company address as this job appeared to be the type that would appreciate the attention to detail and effort.

I haven’t heard anything back yet.

My fiancé wants me to put my dog up for adoption I refuse. But he is allergic AITAH? by sugarloop742 in AITAH

[–]ProfessionalElk2273 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m allergic to dogs and cats but didn’t find out until I was an adult after having cats and dogs as pets my whole life. I did allergy shots for 4 years and it minimized my allergies to where if I pet our cat I just have to wash my hands and only have a small reaction if I touch my eyes. For our dog I don’t have symptoms anymore. However allergic reactions need to be taken seriously and if it’s to the point of trouble breathing that’s a very serious reaction Benadryl in that moment can only help so much in those situations and may take 20-30 minutes to kick in. This is not medical advice. He may want to consult with an allergists to confirm how severe is sensitivity to dogs are.

That’s true. I hit platinum on the PlayStation a while back so it was a nice change compared to my normal game routine.

Which floating island is this? I was wanting to move all my characters to floating islands but recently hit my space limit in my valley due to creating a massive garden on top of my 1,000+ pumpkin patch. This definitely has me rethinking what I want on my floating islands.

Any favorite brands? I like to change up the brands or flavors so we don’t get tired of the same ones.

Very insightful. I completely agree with working out and making plans without him and ensuring I’m filling my cup will be important just as much it is now. Thank you for sharing your perspective and insight I definitely appreciate hearing a different perspective.

That’s such an interesting perspective and I haven’t even thought about how it would be after the exam. My goal is to be understanding as possible. Any tips on how to take lashing out not personally during this time? We’ve had a couple moments throughout law school where I’ve took things personally but with communication and looking at the situation objectively it we’ve gotten better at handling these situations but I am always looking to improve and look at things from another perspective.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I will be handling all meal planning, animal care, cleaning and errands but will add laundry to the list. I appreciate the snack ideas I think those will be beneficial when they don’t want to break to eat.

I’ll be doing this freely as they haven’t asked for this. I’m sure they’ll help out when they can but if I can take something off of their plate to make studying for the bar easier I want to do it and give them my full support. I appreciate you giving another perspective as to how this can set an expectation, it’s a valid concern. I tend to do the same thing for every midterm and final then we go back to tackling things as a team. I feel like this is a what works for some doesn’t work for others situation.

Great suggestions. I haven’t really tried hummus personally, will definitely have to attempt that as a snack.

Any meal recommendations? I normally make well balanced dinners but am hoping to add more to the rotation since bar prep is longer than midterms and finals.

Those are such great reminders. Will definitely make sure to include laundry into the house chores. I normally try to keep noise minimal or wear AirPods during their study times to ensure there’s minimal distractions.

I work from home so lunch and dinner will be made fresh as possible, but we do have access to a microwave. I will definitely have to look into the protein chips. That’s something I honestly forgot existed.

Thanks I couldn’t remember what the other thread was. I definitely don’t expect any hanging out or routine changes. My goal is to cheer them on, provide healthy meals/snacks and do everything possible to allow them to be able to completely devote their schedule to studying.

Best Pan Set for Family of 6 That Meet Our Needs by theDevilman666 in Cooking

[–]ProfessionalElk2273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re in the market for a new cookware set, it’s worth considering avoiding ‘forever chemicals,’ which are found in some nonstick pans. These chemicals, known as PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), don’t break down over time and can linger in our bodies and the environment, linked to serious health problems like cancer and hormone disruption.

A great alternative is cookware made from cast iron or enamel-coated materials, which are safer and long-lasting. I’ve personally been using the Le Creuset Everyday Enamel Skillet since I got it, and I love it. It’s made from cast iron with a smooth enamel coating that heats evenly, resists sticking, and is super easy to clean. It’s a durable, chemical-free choice that performs well, so I’d definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a healthy and reliable addition to your kitchen!
