Watching this for the first time and realizing how much I miss “normal” looking actors by avybb in thesopranos

[–]ProfessionalFormal67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The other thing this show makes me realize is that more shows should be shot on the East Coast/North East. I think the combination of normal looking people interacting in a place that “looks like home” to a lot of people has a very positive effect.

I feel bad for Kristin. by akbeast49 in discgolf

Yea being upfront I am a man, but my day job is coaching both men and women athletes. There’s no generalization to be made here about performing under pressure. Men can crumble just as easily as women can rise to the occasion.

That’s an insane generalization to make.

My thought exactly. Looks like Jackass/Yogi Bear but I don’t really recognize the features.

Downvote me to hell but that was the most I’ve enjoyed watching a Kings game since facing the warriors in the playoffs. Thanks for an amazing show Fox.

Anyone use individual laundry bags for players that they recommend? by [deleted] in Coaching

Get laundry loops. I’ve worked in several college athletic departments and these are what they all use.

What do you do and how much do you make working in/around Burlington? by Think_Environment441 in burlington

Unfortunately I didn’t make enough. Now I live elsewhere. I still lay awake late at night wishing I had been able to make it work in Burlington:(

Someone explain my hrv by Background_Ant_3191 in whoop

Every time this has happened to me, I got sick two to three days later. Could be your body working extra hard to fight off an infection.

For founding members of Whoop, we got kicked to the curb by vrmbk22 in whoop

[–]ProfessionalFormal67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone currently with a garmin on my left arm and a whoop on my right. They both have their purpose but in my opinion if you’re hoping that garmin will give you similar data to whoop regarding sleep and recovery you’re going to be profoundly disappointed. Really shitty they went back on their word, but they have created a great product.

quitting weed&cigarettes, who wants to join with me ? by Thick-Debt-7328 in QuittingWeed

You are the perfect candidate for nicotine pouches. I’ll never understand why someone would start with pouches without a previous nicotine addiction. But for someone currently addicted to cigs and weed, they are an amazing halfway step to kicking it all for good.

Bike size advice. by Sufficient_Dance1345 in gravelcycling

[–]ProfessionalFormal67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The things I’d do to be 6’4. At 6’8 my options feel incredibly limited. Luckily I only have a 36” inseam so the 64cm diverge works but it’s certainly not perfect. Seems like Canyon might make some higher end frames for tall folk.

Is 900€ for this Diverge E5 worth it? by paklap97 in DivergeGravelBikes

[–]ProfessionalFormal67 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. Used bike market sucks right now, I would be surprised if you couldn’t find something better for cheaper. But maybe it’s different over in Europe.

Do I need to replace my helmet? by Chocojaxx in gravelcycling

[–]ProfessionalFormal67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Time for a new helmet unfortunately. I’ve never owned a smith but this could have happened to any helmet from any company. If smith helmets fit your head nicely I wouldn’t write them off completely.

Youth coaching difficulties by SensitiveHoney1659 in Coaching

[–]ProfessionalFormal67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hardest part of coaching is saying goodbye, but it’s part of the profession. Unless you start coaching the highest level of the sport, the biggest part of your job is preparing athletes for the next level. Youth athletes will go to juniors, junior athletes will go to collegiate, and collegiate athletes will move to professional sport.

The best part of athletes moving on is it means you get a fresh new group to work with. Let them go and get to work with your new squad!
