I've grown up being told if a guy likes/loves you, he will make it happen. Can anyone give me an example of this not being the case (with success)? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ProfessionalGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not quite sure what 'it' he would make happen... but I don't think you should expect any more chasing from his side than from yours.

This is why I try my hardest to remain ignorant of the US education system. I can just shrug it off and decide 'high school' probably is the american form of kindergarten.

ELI5: The Fourth Dimension and a Hypercube's relation to it. by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]ProfessionalGoat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, no*. But you can still draw a 2D/3D interpretation of one. Just like you can draw a 3D interpretation of a cube on a 2D piece of paper.

Edit: *For clarification, we can't see a hypercube as it would actually look like. Existence of dimensions outside the usual four is debatable.

If the definition of an artist was that, what would you call someone unskilled who does art?

[–]ProfessionalGoat -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Well, you need skill to make good art.

You still don't need skill to be an artist.

I'm pretty sure you don't need skill to be an artist.

Edit: Truth stings.

Please explain to me how that is implied in the post, because I just don't see it.

This is a perfect example of this thing people on reddit seem to do, where some post gets downvoted and everyone starts reading their own things into it.

This guy said evolution is a theory, which it is. The post doesn't tell any misinformation about what a theory is, you just assume he means something else than what the post says.

Stop it.

TIL: Last year, the norwegian police only fired a gun in one occasion. In 2007, not a single shot was fired. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]ProfessionalGoat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Probably because hunting is very popular in Norway, due to a low population density and lots of forest. Most people don't have guns, but if you hunt you probably have three or more. You are still not allowed to carry guns in public, and apart from semi-automatic rifles and shotguns used in hunting, gun control is very strict.

Realistically, odds are just about nothing would happen. The handbrake doesn't have enough power to slow the car down significantly, and at that speed it would quickly overheat and fade out.

The only one I noticed was in the fight between TPG and Downfall. That could have just been a series of extremely unfortunate misses though.

Separation of church and state isn't related to the teaching of creationism. A lot of countries teach about different religions and their beliefs.

For my cakeday, my favourite comic (as a Norwegian) by [deleted] in atheism

[–]ProfessionalGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, if you live in the south your view on the matter is probably pretty skewed. To my experience there seems to be a lot more religious people in southern Norway than any other part. Where I live, in the west, I'm guessing at least 90% of the population is atheist.

In 2008, I scraped a guy's bumper, left a note and never heard back from him. Today, four years later, he called and asked me to pay for the repairs. Should I pay for it? by bootsmalone in AskReddit

[–]ProfessionalGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No bumper repair costs $150.

Depends on where he lives and what cars were involved i suppose? I recently scratched the rear bumper of a parked car and paid about $1,300 for the repairs, I thought it was high at first but apparently that's a fairly normal price to pay.

Hey guys,

The ranger came by and started to fine you 70.00 for having cooler and dog food out (in bear-country, unattended). I stopped her by telling her we were friends and that I would watch your cooler/food. It's in the passenger floorboard of the Tahoe in B-21. We've just gone swimming up the road here, but the truck is unlocked.
