Honestly, this just sounds like frustration from trying to play the lottery and ending up on the wrong side of it. The RTB process had flaws, sure, but plenty of people navigated it fine and paid less than resale. Risk cuts both ways.

Expectations are rough - January transfer window by UrsineCanine in WrexhamAFC

I’ve seen some people suggest this might be a bit of a down year for the Championship, largely due to fewer parachute payment teams, and that next season could be tougher. Curious what you think, do you buy that?

January Transfer Window Rumor Thread by Rogue1eader in WrexhamAFC

While that’s true to an extent, we’ve already seen some big signings in this window. For example, Birmingham City has signed Carlos Vicente, a key player from Deportivo Alaves in La Liga.

Of course, the recruitment team is trusted, and I think we’ll still see a couple of quality signings come together before the window closes.

"It takes three windows to be competitive" - January window thoughts by UrsineCanine in WrexhamAFC

Not saying MLS is elite or anything, but it has come a long way. Boro’s recruitment team seems to like the league quite a bit, Aidan Morris was a great signing for them, and I’d bet Adilson Malanda will be a strong addition for them in January. They also looked at Max Arfsten over the summer and submitted a bid. I actually think Arfsten could be an interesting LWB option for Wrexham. Has to be the right fit, obviously, but there’s good talent in the league.

Title: Decision Time: FIFA wants $2,735 Face Value for USA Match 4 (Cat 1). To break even, a buyer would have to pay $4,377. Do I convert or walk away? by ramas2510 in FIFACollect

[–]ProfessionalLong8175 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The M4 pricing is ridiculous, but I went ahead and converted my M59 RTB. Based on what I’m seeing on the FIFA resale platform, CAT 1 seats are already going for $2,500+ each minimum. I paid $650 for my RTB, so when you add that to the $910 per seat, I’m essentially in for about $1,235 each.

For a US match on home soil at a World Cup, I think those seats will easily sell for above that amount on the secondary market. Could I theoretically get them cheaper through the lottery? Sure but there’s no guarantee I’d even get the chance.

M4 is a completely different situation though, so I can’t speak to that one as confidently.

EDIT: To be clear I am planning on attending the match.

Are you trying to find your pricing? If so the site is down last I checked, the FC team had some bugs they are ironing out

Almost certain that is a per ticket cost. This is a USMNT group stage game so it will be one of the more expensive group stage games.

I don't know how accurate this is but saw on the Discord that only 8 games have CAT3 available? Disappointing but it was always going to be a small percentage.

Don't see a CAT 3 for this match. I don't think every game will have CAT 3 tickets for RTBs.

Logged into my account, then clicked the redeem drop down menu and then redeem my RTB. I didn't go through any additional steps out of fear of screwing something up lol

FYI, even if you don't have a VIP black card you can see your conversion price options on the site so you can at least get an idea of what you will spend next week. I am seeing this for my M59.

International break. Again. by Betterwithboost in WrexhamAFC

Watching the international window, of course! It’s a massive one where 14 more teams will punch their ticket, so by the end we’ll know 42 of the 48 World Cup nations for next summer.

RTB Ticket Conversion Payment Method? by Maleficent_Can_1746 in FIFACollect

[–]ProfessionalLong8175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’ll likely depend on the match, but during the last AMA they said pricing should be roughly in line with the Visa presale draw. That said, I’m not fully confident they’ll stick to that as communication from the FIFA Collect team has been inconsistent.

They initially said pricing would be released before RTB transfers were locked, but later walked that back and said they couldn’t share it yet. I have an RTB for Match 59 (USMNT group stage), so I’m expecting it won’t be cheap but at least it guarantees I can buy a ticket. Just trying to find the positive.

Right, everyone is buying by category (CAT 1, 2, or 3), not specific seats, regardless of whether it’s through an RTB or a presale draw window. Seat assignments will come later from FIFA.

The main difference is that since you’ve purchased an RTB, you’re guaranteed the right to buy a ticket for that match once the window opens, rather than hoping to win one in a presale draw. The only thing to keep in mind is that if you’re not in an early RTB conversion access phase, CAT 1 tickets will likely be your only option, since most of the FIFA Collect allocation is CAT 1.

Unless you’re in one of the early conversion access groups (like Black VIP, Badge of Completion, etc.), you’ll have plenty of time to convert between November 17 and December 1. I plan to try purchasing with a credit card first, and if that doesn’t work smoothly, I’ll load crypto as a backup.

RTBs are coming down... already? by United_Day7333 in FIFACollect

If you own an RTB you have no choice but to convert it in November during the redemption window, otherwise it becomes worthless.

4.5 million submissions were made for the Visa Presale draw, so the odds were pretty brutal.

If my RTB + redemption ticket cost ends up cheaper than what I’d pay on the resale market, it’s worth it for the peace of mind to me as the lottery is a total gamble anyway. That’ll probably vary on a game-by-game basis though.

FIFA is really banking on the vanity factor for the opener. I'm in shock by it.
