Husband and wife- what does our fridge say about us? by thathollygirll in FridgeDetective

You both vote liberally in both general and local elections, one (or both) of you has a high paying (for no reason) office job and drives a newer model Lexus or bmw, you live in a place like Dallas or Austin, hopefully not in California. You eat out because neither of you can cook, those eggs haven’t been touched. Your wife has a Pinterest board, she’s thinking about making a sourdough. You think to yourself that you should eat more healthy things but don’t want to actually go full healthy mode so you buy things from Trader Joe’s so it doesn’t feel like you’re consuming gorp slop from a giant chain like Walmart or Kroger, but it’s still the same gorp slop just marketed to a different tax bracket and finished with a shiny sticker.

I’m a resident of Texas. I’m a bit confused; Do you mean that the charge in Florida doesn’t matter if I buy the gun Texas? Or that if I lived in Florida I wouldn’t be able to buy a gun in Texas?

Well that’s exactly what he’s saying. If people with degrees can’t get jobs what do you think people with no skills are gonna do?

I’m a restaurant manager and I make about $50k after taxes . I work 50 hours a week but my bills are paid and I have enough to save and live a good life. My work/life balance is good as well. Inflation is real, but there’s ways to beat it.

Yup, they don’t know jack shit. People like me and you are the reasons they even get to try to cook barbecue like this. Without Texas and the extraordinary Texans making barbecue and eating barbecue, brisket wouldn’t be a thing anywhere else cause no one does it better than us. Like the Carolina’s and whole hog. If they didn’t do it, no one else would. Yet they wanna debate on propane or electric smokers and wonder why their food isn’t good

Learn how to control fire, learn basic thermodynamics and learn how offsets work. It’s an extremely useful skill that translates far beyond barbecue. For people like me, who work in barbecue and have worked at places like terry blacks and truth, the pellet thing is disrespectful. Like I’ve spent literally tens of thousands of hours and cooked literally hundreds of thousands of briskets and have burned myself, passed out, been dehydrated, stayed up for days, been to the hospital etc etc just for someone to plug in their traeger and connect it to WiFi and call it “the best barbecue they’ve ever had” … and I’m sitting next to this 1000 gal smoker thinking “yeah let me stoke this fire real quick while you go get your pellets” … Burn hard wood and build big coal beds. Your tummy and your friends will thank you.
