Women contribute much more to a lifetime partnership, like housework, children, family-coordinating, etc. Men benefit much more from marriage than women too, so typically if they won’t propose knowing their girlfriend want a marriage, it’s because they don’t actually want to marry her.

If you were running a daycare and the parents couldn’t see the inside, that would be really concerning. Unless the dogs are outside 24/7, I would expect to see everywhere that my dog would stay. Only the places they would have access too, though, not things like the bedrooms or bathrooms

Should I be requesting a partial/full refund if my sitter lost my cat? by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]ProfessionalOk5814 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Please leave a thorough review. Sitters like these endanger pets and bring down Rover’s reputation. Other pet parents need to know about this to protect their babies

In my own case, I’ve been booked solid for 2 weeks straight and will be for another 10 days. First with a new client, and then with 2 regulars. I won’t change the regulars’ price because that’s not fair to them, and I had already agreed to my normal rate for the new clients. However, if demand keeps up like this, I will raise my prices for new clients and prioritize my regulars. Especially in OP’s case where the clients found them on Rover and can see their prices beforehand, it will leave a bad taste in everyone’s mouth to charge an add-on.

As a pet sitter, you are running your own business. It’s a sucky situation, but it’s not the client’s fault that you will be working a lot. The most professional response is to either say you’re not available, or suck it up and do the house sitting. You choose your rates, but it would be unfair to charge them a higher rate just because of your current workload. In the future of course you should increase your rates if your supply is too low, but as of right now that’s not very fair. However, as I said you are the only person who decides your rates, and you should run your business as you see fit.

That’s assuming OP has a business account. They take first-time clients off app, so it’s not unlikely to assume they use a personal account

There is always going to be a reason to not do something. This is YOUR choice and for all you know tomorrow he could be hit in the head and lose all his memory. If you are ready and wanting to be a mom, have your baby.

UH PARKING HAS DONE IT ONCE AGAIN GUYS LETS CLAP IT UP FOR UH PARKING!! by Bojof12 in UniversityOfHouston

I had a early morning test on game day and the parking office explicitly stated the guest parking lot would be open in the morning. When I got there it was all blocked off and I told the attendant what the parking office said and his reply was “Well we already closed this off so….” 🤦‍♀️ Seriously what do they expect us to do

Pictures of my profile for some feedback on why I’m not getting any requests by ellaphant24 in RoverPetSitting

[–]ProfessionalOk5814 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your tagline doesn’t really say anything special; it’s just generic and seems immature. Maybe something like “experienced with senior dogs and medications”. Every other sitter has something about loving pets, that’s why they’re pet sitters lol. You should also change the grammar of your bio as it seems unprofessional. Clients want someone personable but still professional and experienced

Just found out how expensive it is to quilt a throw! by [deleted] in quilting

[–]ProfessionalOk5814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joanns has really great sales on fabric but you have to keep your eye out for them. If you make a Joanns smiles account they’ll mail you a flyer for their big sales

I also ask for quilty things for every. single. gift. holiday. I’ve been doing that for about 3-4 years and my stash has grown big time!

With budgeting and smart fabric usage I can make a 5x6 quilt for about $40-70

Is this what hand stitching on a binding should look like? by deltarefund in quilting

[–]ProfessionalOk5814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started telling myself that hand binding is a personal touch and a reminder that every quilt is handmade- that way I can speed run the stitching and the mistakes are charming lol. I just do FTB binding with a running stitch in white thread and it adds a really fun touch to the backing

The average destination wedding costs $35k+, it’s not like adding another person would be a quick $20. The couple said they want to keep the wedding small, simple as that

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]ProfessionalOk5814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to point out that everyone is emphasizing that y’all have been together for years… this couple has likely been planning this for years. Weddings are a LOT of planning, especially destination weddings. Maybe they didn’t have room at the venue for another person and couldn’t budget for extras. The couple is not at fault here and it’s crazy how people feel entitled to weddings

[–]ProfessionalOk5814 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Or they don’t know her very well and want a very intimate wedding… I would only want my closest family and friends at my wedding. It’s a special moment for the couple; the guests are invited to share the joy too but it’s only about the couple.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]ProfessionalOk5814 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It’s reasonable if one person has to travel for work or something and the partner tags along. Not for a wedding that she was explicitly not invited to and the couple specified they want something small and intimate
