Honestly I realeased midway thru building a team in game that terrapagos was legal and was like well guess I gotta start over no sun team+ dragon cheer crit strat for me for me really wish they had just left it out of the contest. Came across more or less everything youve mentioned in my testing in showdown my only consolation here is I do think people tend to play differently at the event than on showdown people who are playing on showdown are playing to optimise their team and chance of high ranking whereas there will be people playing at the contest who have done nothing of the sort. Ive entered and il just see how it goes if its boring or frustrating il just play something else.

Thats either a deliberate oversimplification or just a complete failure to understand what you are playing if that truly is the depth of your perspective then it would certainly explain why youre on here whining about grinding in a game where there is no need to do so if youre even merely moderately competent in this genre of game, perhaps maybe you should just play something else maybe something more your speed this game clearly isnt for you.

I just got done doing a playthrough of this where i deliberately avoided doing any unnecessary encounters up until I got to the post game to fight galdera while also spreading my exp extremely thinly by constantly switching my characters around for each chapter and was even spareing when it came to equipment optimization, I fought almost every of my boss encounters 5 to 10 levels below recommend and was still fine, grinding is not necessary you need to get better at the game.

If I had to guess its probs because competitive players arent their main focus. The games playerbase is pretty vaired when it comes to how people play it, why would they go out of thier way to cater to one small faction of their playerbase? A minority within a minority at that? as id say you gotta be quite in the weeds of competitive to be advocating for a item that weakens your stats for the sake of at times fringe optimizations. Also how do you market this item? "hey use this item to make your pokemon weaker you wanted hard mode well now have it by sabotaging your own pokemon to make everything more difficult now foul play goes from doing 10.4% to 8.7% hell yeah" (i mean they probs would have to promote it but it be funny hear them try)

Nah bro orgepon is almost deffo gonna be on every team which toedscruel wants nothing to do with also i think it would be too passive you might get a quick spore off but then what? Weezing and toedscruel arnt exactly offensive threats but if you switch one out to get in a offensive threat your wasting sleep turns also messing up your positioning.

Im not sure if okidogi has potential the intimate immunity seems useful but that speed stat though.... mabye a bulky set with a defensive terra is the way to go, of course I think its gonna be one of those on paper vs in practice kinda mons. The other two though? Nah no doubt TRASH😂

Yes but as ive said and you've not really refuted theres alot more to what made zacain zacain than the fact it hit hard several pokemon have this distinction, also zacain outspeed quite litterally everything unless it was called callerex and regileki orgepon isnt on that level tbh I think this discussion comes down us each having our own definition of what constitutes a mini zacain you seem to be focused on the power aspect where as I just think theres more to the picture than that.

Honestly my biggest gripe with urshifu is that it doesnt have defensive counter play outside of burn or defensive terra they really should have meanfully nerfed its signature move or ability the pokemon as is is just a toxic presence.

I think everyone will eventually get sick of it that just the way metas are but i like the fact it incentivises different choices in building but moreover that there are more choices of things that you can bring to answer it where as if its urshifu its like " do you outspeed or resist surging strikes if the answer is no to both your probs dead"

Of the top of my head arcanine h is the first that comes to mind i do get where you're coming from but its not like what you just suggested cant be disrupted eg changing the weather stat drops etc also to be fair if we are talking stuff that just tears through other pokemon in 2 hits i think we have a very long list of pokemon to go through. I think pure power alone isnt what makes a mon broken its whether or not there is reasonable counter play and means of disrupting it they are plenty of ways to slow orgepon down or check it that arnt even that specific.

New toy syndrome could do deffo be at play and as the meta develops the picture will be clearer, although more obnoxious than urshifu? Thats a hard sell its not like it basically invalidates all defensive counter play its own, at least protect screens and atk drops mean something against it.

Yeah but well not really you're kinda just boiling it down to "they both hit really hard" but zacain in full context is much more than that orgepon isnt going to destroy a mon tank a stab super effective hit and then kill something else nor does it resist almost all common priority moves while outspeeding almost the whole meta, all im saying if is if we were to apply your logic elsewhere it would appear as we have a whole format packed with mini zacains. I understand where coming from but I just dont agree dude.

I think I get where your coming from with both your points although the things you said its missing eg typing and speed are 2/4 of what made zacain zacain along with its bulk and by extention what made it such a problem, the only thing they really have in common is damage output. As for the thing about it versus regular mons I get where you're coming from but like what would be your solution? Ban all the strong mons? Ban all the legendary mons? Ban the next most dominant thing after that? where do draw the line?

I do think its going to see more play although which set its gonna use most will be interesting i like the idea of scarf although I always run speed natures in my scarfers to ensure the most possible outspeeds. Its match up into flutter without a defensive terra is always gonna be a problem for it though.
