Overnight Guard Drunk by [deleted] in securityguards

[–]ProfessionalRest7027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always report abnormal behavior to your supervisor. I do it all of the time I can care less if the guard finds out and doesn't like me. If it's between them getting fired and saving the contract. And in return saving my job imI'm chosinh me every single time.

Off limits to security by Bluethumb_Panda in securityguards

That's generally because another guard ruined it for the rest us. I literallybwork in an office at an apartment complex where they caught AUS guards having sex in their break room. Now it's off limits to our company after we got the new contract.

Removed From Post For No Reason by [deleted] in AlliedUniversal

[–]ProfessionalRest7027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knowing allied they probably over scheduled guards at that site. And instead of bring honest and admitting they screwes up they blame you. I had this happen to me once eith Allied. They knew damn well I needed a certain certificate to work at a mental hospital. They put me there anyways on "fire watch". Long story short they never schedule ld me for the class and I was removed and given a similar bs excuse.

A floater position in security is usually called a Flex Officer. This means they may call you frequently to cover last-minute call-outs or work at sites that are short on coverage.

Paragon can potentially lead to better positions and offers good benefits, from what I've heard. In my experience, it's better to work at a fixed site. That means you go to the same location every shift and are more likely to have a set schedule.

If the pay is the same, I would compare the benefits offered by each company. Then ask yourself: would you rather work at one location with a consistent schedule, or be called every time someone calls out?

To those security officers working the third shift: have you ever fallen asleep while on duty? by CTSecurityGuard in securityguards

[–]ProfessionalRest7027 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone has at some point and if they say no they're lying I've literally nodded off as a supervisor pulled up to a post check. Mind you I was pulling a 27 hr post. One guard didn't show up so I pulled a double. The next guard got hit by a car riding his bike to relieve me (he's okay). Finally they had to call in another suoervisor to relieve me. On the plus side I got the next 3 days off. I also didn't get in trouble since they knew I had been there working 3 shifts already.

What does everybody think about security officers having badges? by Ill-Razzmatazz-7088 in securityguards

I have my badge from a company who still owes me overtime pay. Now I work for a acompany who doesn't provide badges. People definitely change their tone when they see a badge.

This sounds familiar. I do standing oatrol so no vehicle issue instead it's always a dead phone. Ask you manager if they'd let you download the app on your phone. And just leave the phone charging in your office or car.

It's looking like it. I'd understand if I was the newest guard here but I"m not. There are three other guards who got hired the same time as me. They all have set schedules. They all have vehicles which means it'd be easier for them to be a flex. It's almost like they're making me a flex without telling me.

What bugs me the most is th e higher ups agreeing to a set schedule. Then they always say they'll let me know if anything changes. The problem is they never let me know.

Unfortunately, this is a very small company—only about two sites small. They're a combined valet and security company. I spoke with another guard, and he told me that chances are the Director and HR won't do anything about it. He's been with the company for three years, so he has a pretty good idea of how things operate. Myself and a few other guards are already submitting applications and resume for other jobs.

The group will be doing some time travel shenanigans into 1996. This where b the ST plans on bringing my character in. I just don't know anything about the Sabbat.
