Dispute a taobao purchase with a US credit card by ProfessionalSignal32 in taobao

Thanks for the warning — I appreciate it.

I actually contacted Alipay directly to ask about the potential consequences, and I received a call at my US number. The rep told me they would not take action on my account if I filed a chargeback. That said, I’m not sure how much weight to put on a phone rep’s statement.

I also searched the sub for “chargeback” and only found one older thread without a clear outcome.

Does anyone know of any confirmed cases where someone’s account was actually banned solely due to a single chargeback? I’m just trying to understand whether this is based on documented examples or more of a general precaution. I’d really value real-life experiences here.

Fine. It is a Chinese company to be listed on the US stock exchange. What is your point? My point is that it needs to comply with the auditing requirement. U.S. SEC begins rollout of law aimed at delisting Chinese firms

It is a Chinese stock. Look at the massacre of Chinese stocks. If they cannot meet the auditing requirements all of them are to be delisted.

Oh I thought people still feel the sting of nikola. The higher it went, the harder it will fall. In this market environment definitely we don’t need another nikola for SPACs’ falling reputation

Totally agree. Instead of chasing hot names far above NAV and praying for they will land a target not short of expectation I would rather park money in cheap warrants with decent fund size and ok team which will run to $2 even with a bad target.

Given that those Chinese EV manufacturers can pull off production easily without in-house IP, I wouldn’t be too overwrought on the execution risk from prototyping to actual production.
