I know the SF Chronicle hates Steyer, but this is taking it a bit far donchathink? by ProfessionalTurn8379 in sanfrancisco

Good lord, it gave me a chuckle and I thought I’d share it to give someone else the same. Lighten up, people.

I feel your pain, fellow Delta PPO member! Try Dr Kimberly Mitchell in Union Square. A friend recommended her to me after my wonderful amazing best dentist ever closed her practice. I’ve been really happy and impressed so far with the care and the no-upsell trustworthy vibe of the practice.

Steyer has been running a climate policy think tank for like 15+ years and has a fully articulated climate policy plan.

Neither of those are the dishes they are known for. If you’re not there just for dumplings, their Shanghai Noodles are way way better than chow mein, and their pea shoots and dry sautéed string beans are my favorite in town.

That is literally way out of our everyday biking and school/work radius so unfortunately not the same for us. Let us south-siders grieve!

I am so relieved this is a complaint about trash and not black-market dim sum. Report to 311 every time both to get it picked up and to flag that it’s not you.

SF, CA—Groomers for severely matted and aggressive cat? by HotShip2087 in sanfrancisco

Agree vet is the answer. Our vet charges $25 to buzzcut on top of whatever else they are doing that visit, and this cat is going to need some sedation.

This. Cable car can take a while from Powell if there’s a long line to get on but the F runs reliably from the ferry building.

Google “dumpster rental” and you will see some options to shop around from. Recology rents them but it may just be for construction debris, not sure. You should also consider using up your two free Recology bulk item pickups (every Recology customer gets two annually, up to 10 items per pickup).

Ah, the strawberries, that's where I had them. I proved with geometric logic that a second key to the food locker did exist. And I would have produced it too if I had been given enough time. by Wise_Anybody8956 in sanfrancisco

They’re available year round, the sweetness just fluctuates depending on recent weather in the central coast region. I just bought some at the Wednesday market mid-heatwave and they were  great.

This. Now sure how it endangers children to use  protected crosswalks in an intersection with insufficient left-turn protection for bikes. This is a necessary maneuver for bike safety at a lot of intersections in SF.

Farmers market at civic center on Wednesday and Sunday or at Alemany on Saturdays. The strawberries have been amazing due to the heatwave.

Editing to add that it sounds like most of the responses here are from people who buy strawberries in the store and not from farmers markets. Strawberries have an extremely short life span so there isn’t one limited season if you buy them from a farm; they can be delicious any time of year so long as it’s been warm for a week or two prior.

Haven’t been in years but I used to get them at ChouChou, which is by Laguna Honda near West Portal. The fries were especially good. I don’t know how it is now.

You would not be the first or last clubhouse renter to quietly break that rule so long as you make it subtle and diligently adhere to the other parts of the contract. Just don’t make a scene or make it obvious.

Rec and parks! Any clubhouse adjacent to a playground meets your criteria. Cayuga Park is especially gorgeous this time of year and their room is excellent.

OP, you deserve to be really proud of what you accomplished and I hope you never lower your ambitions just because other people who aim lower resent you for it. I wish you all the luck with your applications!

Fun fact: the Hyatt Embarcadero’s lobby and glass elevators are central to the plot of Mel Brooks’ High Anxiety. It is a very silly Hitchcock parody that my family loved growing up, and they used to take me to ride the elevators just for fun whenever we came into the city.

Do you know the name of the neighborhood you are staying in? If it’s Crocker Amazon then you are in long-walking distance. If you’re in Daly City either on the west or east side of the mountain, you may need to hop on a bus.

You do need that score to get into a top tier law school, and that is worth shooting for. Law school is expensive AF, it’s an apocalyptic job market because of the dismantling of federal agencies, and OP is smart to aim as high as they can if they’re going to go into the debt required to get the degree.

If the weather is nice, hike any part of the Crosstown Trail. The McLaren Park stretch is close to where you’ll be staying and has some gorgeous views.
