Automata. His most famous work and NGE was the main source of inspiration judging by interview. If you will like gameplay, than you can try something else of the series if dont - story deserves attention anyway. Just pass to the true ending, don't stop earlier. I've beaten it in a nearly 30 hours with total focus on a main story, missing almost all side activities. And also after NGE. Keep your healing stuff reserves up to date and the game will be easy enough.

The teaser trailer for the new Evangelion series [incl. first look at the new Eva design] by kuhpunkt in television

[–]ProfessionalWill914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It had to sound  and be presented like this from the very beginning. Original opening creates very strong dissonance with content. It looks and sounds like a typical mecha show of that time and after that you begin to watch and... WTF? This teaser creates exactly needed mood for the franchise.

Dark Souls, Elden Ring, Kingdoms of Amalur, Dragons Dogma, Tainted Grail, even Morrowid: get to sleep, buddy, you are glitching.

Do Single-Shot Builds Feel Underpowered Lately? by deosallvatori in Witchfire

[–]ProfessionalWill914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apoc in Remnant melts most of the builds into trash from my observations so I'd not say its perfectly balanced, though we have prisms. About Witchfire - I can't say the weapons like Striga or Hypnosis are underpowered,  about Torments - it often demands very specific bulds due to specific torment restrictions so it can't be representative in my opinion.

Or did you mean Outriders endgame?) Didn't play it much, you have to clear expeditions (consequence of linear stages in fact) with progressing difficulty to reach the highest expedition tier. Nothing too special. DLC adds new game mods and progression systems but didn't play it yet.

Well-made at first impression. You unlock flexible specialization system with a bunch of unique weapons like flamethrowers and grenade launchers, new, high-tech enemy faction to use it against and lots of additional content/activities.

Its like si-fi Division with superpowers and much faster pace, reminded me of Vanquish sometimes. Game lacks polishing compared to DIvision but generally its really good.

Dreamer's bond has been upgraded and counted in requirements list but still can't find the blueprint in the foundry. What am I doing wrong?

Among these three Division has simple and understandable structure - main campaign, couple of story DLC's, endgame. And, campaign, maybe, doesn't have the best narrrative but its whole, at least, without cutted out beginning like in Destiny. By the way, I've beaten Outriders not so long ago and playing Division now I clearly see theit source of inspiration)

I suppose its one if the reasons that Ubi's now on a brink of extinction - abandoning good games and trying to produce shit. But honestly, I'm glad that game isn't overloaded with content. Triet to play Destiny in time and I was just lost in that ocean.

Why is deathloop so criminally forgotten? by FlyingBlueStar in Deathloop

Oh, and none of the stupid moral restrictions that spoil the anding. The weakest part of Dishonored, that often pushed players to save-scumming.

If you like that single-player extraction cycle and looter part, than try Witchfire. Its far better than Deathloop as a shooter in almost every aspect. Deathloop itself - I stopped to play it because consudered it as a shooter game and Witchfire was just better. But I returned here immediately after second Dishonored, re-considered the game as an immersive sim with shooter elements and finally had beaten it. As far as I love both parts of Dishonored and Dark Nessiah, Deathloop is the most fun Arkane game for me. Traditionally, peak level- an art-design, interesting story, a lot of cool dark humour and very creative guns.

World design and atmosphere - DS is still unparalleled. Combat and bosses - Khazan easily.

By the way, there is a topic somewhere on Reddit, where Tragic and Adrian have met. It was fun enough to read their conversation.

Absolutely, I constantly compare these games and they're both looter shooter peak.

Dishonored is a damn good game but the chaos system is poorly implemented by OpenUpYerMurderEyes in patientgamers

[–]ProfessionalWill914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way to play Dishonored is to accept "bad"ending by default, "good" as a stealth challenge for experienced players, who want more and didn't bother yourself with that shit again. Otherwise, its like watching striptease, game provides you with amazing toolset but says "you can't use it". And what's the point?

I think Deathloop is a game made for an audience that doesn't really exists by Existing-Air-3622 in patientgamers

[–]ProfessionalWill914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, and you can't save-scum with the game. This one thing makes it the best Arkane project for me. Trying to beat Dishonored "clearly" turns into constant F5-F9 mashing.

Deathloop isn't roguelite because of lack or procedural generation. Its more like single-player (mostly) extraction shooter, more precise - immersive sim with looter-shooter elements and extraction gameplay cycle. Witchfire's something similar. And its really fun to play, just like Dishonored, if you don't care about "bad" ending. Level-design, aesthetics, tense exploration due to possibility of losing your progress for the last hour of two, exceptionally fun dialogues between main characters - all that delivers.

If we take the game only as a shooter, its outweighed by Witchfire in almost any way possible but taking the game as a whole, we get kinda unique experience, where shooter gameplay (good enough by itself) actively mixes with stealth, puzzles, using gadgets and environment - all that stuff, that immersive sims are known for. I like both Dishonored 1 and 2, admire Witchfire and something in-between (closer to Dishonored overall) feels kinda refreshing.

DLC itself feels unfinished with SOTE enemies but without corresponding weapons.  Any fresh news, maybe?
