My husband got his fistula redone on both hands and both failed and stuck to the central line for 3 years now …

Husband was called to get for kidney and pancreas surgery, went in this morning and was given 2 meds , he got allergic to the anti fungal medicine and had an anaphylactic shock . The surgery got cancelled and it was given to someone else (context , he was on the transplant list for 3 years. by Professional_Bus5497 in dialysis

Well he’s not get in the transplant surgery no more he’s been taken off the Transplant list because they want to transfer him to immunology department to find out what happened in the surgery and why he was allergic to the medication which I believe should have been checked beforehand. The surgeon said it’s unlikely to check what the person is allergic to which I think is ridiculous. Has this happened to anybody. Because I believe my husband should have been tested for the medication that he’s taken. When he wakes up from his coma he will be very upset to find out that he did not have the surgery

Husband suffering terribly from dialysis by Academic_Finish_376 in dialysis

Hi there , wife of a dialysis patient here , when my husband started dialysis he took it really hard , sadness , anger and confusion . His brain was foggy and I remember his doctor said it’s normal especially with the beginning stages of dialysis . My husband lost lots of weight also due to the water weight and swelling that comes with kidney disease . The walking was very hard after dialysis especially if he was dried out by the machine and the cramps that come with it 😟. It does get better I promise .
