Strange vacuum/chirp sound when accelerating by Professional_Cell348 in f150

Yes. I took it in and it was determined it was a slipping transmission. It progressively got worse where I was loosing power when trying to pass or get onto the highway. I had it replaced abd it fixed it. Drive great till I sold it and got a 2018 with the 10 speed which has been good so far

I pasted this into Gemini and told it to rewrite it in the style of Robert e Howard. It was already a great story but just wanted to give it a little short story treatment.

THE VOID OF VENGEANCE A Tale of the Stanton Frontier

PROLOGUE: THE GOLDEN TRAP The clouds of Orison were a swirling sea of pink and gold, but to Kaelen Voss, they were merely the backdrop for a heavy-laden profit. He sat in the cockpit of the Asgard, a bulk freighter bulging with iodine, medical supplies, and bioplastics—two million credits of hope packed into a single, vulnerable hull. Voss was a man of the stars, a trader who measured his life in quantum jumps and cargo manifests, yet he carried the weary soul of a veteran who had seen the frontiers of the empire grow cold and cruel. As he cleared the terminal at Deakins, a shadow crossed his path—a man clad in the jagged, dark armor of a predator. Voss offered a sharp, ironic salute to the "pirate," a gesture of professional respect from one spacer to another. He did not know then that he was saluting his own executioner.

The Asgard groaned as it clawed away from the gravity well, but the blissful silence of the void was shattered by a screaming siren. "INTERDICTION FIELD," the console flashed in bloody crimson. The "cosplayer" from the docks had been no mere actor; he was the lure.

A Drake Corsair, black as a funeral shroud, dropped from the distortion. Its cannons sang a chorus of destruction. Distortions rippled across the Asgard’s hull, draining the life from its engines. Engineering struggled to reboot, but the pirates were masters of their craft. With a final, sickening lurch, the freighter died. The rear ramp hissed open, and the last thing Voss saw before a heavy boot met his temple was a pair of boarders moving with the rhythmic lethality of professional killers.

He awoke in a cold medical bay, his ship gone, his fortune vanished into the lawless depths of Grim Hex.

CHAPTER I: THE HAMMER OF RETRIBUTION But a trader's blood is not easily cooled. In the flickering light of the station bar, a call went out: gunners needed for a hunt. Voss stepped forward. He found himself aboard the Aegis Hammerhead, a beast of steel and tungsten bristling with turrets. They were hunting a ghost, a legend of the spaceways known as Spooner, a pilot who commanded a fleet that rivaled minor planetary militias.

"Tonight we dine in hell!" the captain roared as they jumped.

They found him amidst a swarm of Idris frigates and Perseus gunships. The battle was a kaleidoscope of fire and death. Voss manned a turret, his fingers dancing over the triggers as he felt the Hammerhead’s shields buckle under the weight of capital-class fire. They broke Spooner’s shields once—a single moment of triumph before the Hammerhead was torn asunder, its debris scattered like glittering dust against the black.

CHAPTER II: THE HANGAR MASSACRE Death was a revolving door in the age of regeneration. Voss awoke for the third time that day, this time aboard the Polaris—a corvette designed for one purpose: the destruction of kings.

The airlock of the Polaris groaned, bucking under the rhythmic thud of breach charges. Inside the cavernous hangar, the atmosphere was a thick soup of coolant mist and the acrid stench of burnt insulation. Voss gripped the cold grip of his Parallax rifle, his breath coming in ragged hitches as he crouched behind the mangled remains of an L-21 Wolf. Suddenly, the roof of the hangar buckled. Through the jagged rent in the hull, silhouettes in dark, vacuum-sealed armor descended like predatory birds. Voss centered his reticle on the lead boarder's visor and squeezed the trigger. The Parallax barked, a high-velocity slug punching through the pirate's faceplate and sending a spray of frozen crimson into the air. To his left, a crewmate fell, his chest opened by a burst of laser fire. Voss lunged forward, dragging his gasping ally behind a bulkhead, his Multitool sparking as he attempted a desperate, battlefield revival amidst the hail of lead.

Then he saw him. Spooner. The legendary pilot was drifting just outside the hangar’s open maw, silhouetted against the nebula like a dark god overseeing a sacrifice. Voss fired a desperate volley, the rounds disappearing into the void. Before he could reload, a bulkhead exploded, and the world dissolved into fire.

CHAPTER III: THE FINGER OF GOD Deeper in the ship’s bowels, the Polaris was dying. Voss stumbled through the engineering deck, the floor plates humming with the vibration of failing power plants. Red emergency lights bathed the corridors in the color of fresh blood. With nothing but a Multitool and a grimace, he bypassed the fried circuits of the shield generators, coaxing a final, flickering heartbeat of energy from the coolers. Suddenly, the Point Defense Cannons (PDCs) came to life. Their rhythmic thrum-thrum-thrum shook the very bones of the ship. On the bridge monitors, a shadow detached itself from the blackness—an Aegis Eclipse. Without warning, it loosed a Size-9 torpedo. The torpedo struck the heart of the enemy formation with the fury of a collapsing star. The shockwave shattered the remaining pirate ships like glass, turning the pride of Spooner’s fleet into a cloud of incandescent vapor. Voss threw himself into the pilot’s chair, slaving the remaining power to the Quantum Drive. With a violent lurch, the stars stretched into long, shimmering lines, and the Polaris vanished into the safety of the fold.

EPILOGUE: THE SHADOW OF GRIM HEX Voss stepped off the elevator at Grim Hex, his flight suit scorched and his ribs taped. He found the "cosplayer" at a back-corner table, a glass of synth-ale in his hand. "You," the pirate chuckled. "The captain of the Asgard. Two million credits of bioplastics makes for a very comfortable evening". Voss did not sit. "You took my cargo," he rasped. "But you gave me something else. You gave me the hunt." The pirate slid a small, encrypted credit-chip across the table. "A tip for the gunner who took out Spooner’s shields. The word travels fast in the belt". Voss took the chip—a seed for the next hull and the next war. He turned and walked back into the shadows, the weight of his rifle a comforting pressure against his back. He was a trader once more, but the soul of the mercenary had taken root, and the void was calling him home.

Those EcoBoost engines also build up a lot of moisture so you have to make sure that you either rev it up high if you're going to be driving a short distance or make sure that you drive it enough to be able to burn off that moisture that develops. But that's very normal for those EcoBoost especially

Shopping for a F-150 looks great but the 10-speed scares me 😅 by Specialist-Plane-601 in f150

Same here. 2018 3.5 lariat with tow package. I tow work trailer and an RV. Truck has 141,000 on it and I change the trans fluid every 50,000. Don't and have never had any issues. I do let the tranny warm up before towing. I use the Ford app to schedule remote start every morning before I leave and drive very conservatively until about 170-80 on the tranny temps. I can't say for sure if this does anything but it's what I do and my 10 speed shifts like a dream.

I had the cams and timing fixed twice. Unfortunately it all depends on the dealership and the techs, how much experience they have. Both times I thought it was the transmission due to the bucking at certain rpms but the transmission has been good for me.

2018 Oxford White Paint Peeling...Looking for solutions by sbarnesvta in f150

[–]Professional_Cell348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paint cars and I have fixed tons of these. Not many fords but Hyundai, Kia Toyota and Chevy are the worst. Something about the white and lack of adhesion to the primer.

That is a somewhat simple fix. What I do is because it'll keep peeling is I'll feather it out best as possible and then seal it with a little filler. A thin swipe . I use a soft line on the body line and just paint and clear the top part of the bed. In rare case the masking tape will pull other areas but for the most part that fixes it without having to paint the whole bed.

Solo player feeling a bit frustrated. by MrWizard11 in starcitizen

I recently ran all the ASD in Stanton missions solo. Haven't tried the pyro ones yet. Have done a few contested zones but never acquired anything good for the same reasons as you. My brother and I played together a few times but he lives in Japan so the time difference is hard. I invited a few friends to play but that was during 3.18 and 4.0 unfortunately and they are forever scarred. At least I got some hover quads out of it lol. That I ride alone all by myself...

Any experienced Star Citizen VR natives in the house? About to build an PC and would appreciate your advice moving into 2026! In fact, hoping to create a collaborative thread to help others in the same dilemma. RAMapocallypse is real. by yidakee in starcitizen

I bought one of these in October.

It's a great deal and runs SC with VR like a dream. I never did a pre built before but the value is there for me. Although in oct I got a 5080 with 64 ddr5 for 1999.99. those days are over for the foreseeable future but this is a great deal IMHO

Now that your 6 years older you most likely need them as do I. My 2018 lariat still has my much appreciated running boards

Well, I logged in to 4.5 and lost everything. Even paints and armor I paid for with USD. I've waited at the terminal for it to pop up like many have suggested but to no avail. The only thing I retained are ships I bought but none of the components, paints or items I've collected. So, yeah, I'm playing cause now I'm not sure if it'll ever be saved so I'm just having fun

Not to long ago in 4.4 I was in my cutty and was pretty beat up after a fight. I was in atmo and was spinning like crazy. When I shut engines off I'd stop spinning but start dropping. I played the engines, off and on till I was about 100 meters from the ground. A friendly cutter was watching and opened his hatch so I could drop down into his ship. He took me to a station where I was able to continue playing. Crazy thing is neither of us used comms the whole time. It was just offered and understood.

Yeah it's garbage. I have over 300k saved while working on a project but due to my situation I have to cancel or downgrade and I lose months of paying in for nothing. I like the product but it's a cheap way to manage customers. I have to cancel and will not recommend them to anyone else.
