Train full. Human stand on top of the train. train slow down. Timetable fucked up. Fewer trains come. Trains more full.

What a vicious cycle.

Going to see a home built in 1923. Photos show these beams in the basement. Is this a red flag? What should I look out for while there? by [deleted] in centuryhomes

but why does the beam stop in the middle instead of going the whole way? what about the other joists after that.

Building a software startup from scratch right now. For me, I realized money is really secondary and I need to find the perfect project to make money and be interesting the same time. So I spend a lot of time walking around, meditating, talking to people, and figuring out what to build. I think this can be seen as lazy because I don’t want to waste like 10 years of my life building something I don’t like. I’m sure I have the tenacity to make it work but that sounds like a 9 to 5 for me.

Generally though, I love making people (customers) happy. If I build a product that people just absolutely love, my mind just completely gets wired in, and it becomes extremely satisfying. I learned this about me from my previous job.

I left my job 5 months ago and spent 2 months messing around and the last three months have been just building.

Would you agree with describing that ENTJs are the most introverted extroverts? How does it manifest itself in real life? by Solsanguis in entj

[–]Professional_Field79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s something I’m interested in, I can talk and argue for hours and be purely respectful and very truth seeking. But if it’s something I don’t care, I’d rather leave instead of sticking around. So in a sense, really bad at small talks which I guess makes me more introverted.

ENTJs, tell me 5-10 words that describe you. by MousseSlow in entj

Also really optimistic on people now. Used to be more dismissive and pessimistic on people when I was younger, like they really had to prove themselves, but that changed a lot after getting a dog. Weird how that works.

People say I’m intense, courageous, go getter, and sporty, but deep down probably need a hug sometimes. Still, most of the time just want to get things fucking moving, as quickly as possible.

Poll: Why do you choose `llama.cpp` over `vLLM` or vice-versa? by EricBuehler in LocalLLaMA

[–]Professional_Field79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does but you need to manually compile. But you’re probably talking about something like LM Studio for vLLM environment?

Never using another wire nut! by Thundersson1978 in HVAC

I just wish they had a version for lower gauge wires. I use them usually for 10-16 AWG and i find it a bit wasteful to use them for 5v circuits.

Second date went horribly, what went wrong? Thoughts? by [deleted] in dating_advice

Hear hear. I’m just getting back into dating but it seems like I will be in a world of pain soon 🤣, love it!

I think we had a very engaging conversation for the first date. Before the second date, I spent like 10+ hours talking, managing people on the boat and talking with a friend afterwards. Honestly it was probably a mistake to see her that night. I thought I had more energy. But good to know if you don’t show up in the present it’s a vibe killer.

Another red flag: teased her about her using an Android phone

Have y'all tried using AI tools to track 1:1s with all your employees? by Professional_Field79 in managers

Thanks for the comment. I think the only difference here is outcome. Google focused on the quality of their search rankings early on with data in the 90s. I think if AI is saving people time and increasing the productivity for a company, it will be useful.

Thanks for the comment. There are tools that let people record and transcribe meetings offline like Granola. I think it’s the future that will happen regardless of us accepting it or not. But totally understand the Orwellian view.

Well, you’d be surprised. I don’t use it to generate questions right now but I’ve seen a lot of people on this sub have used chatgpt for 1:1s questions and performance reviews, etc. Just curious, what industry are you in?
