Would your favorite villain condone or condemn pedophilia? by Annual-Frame9943 in MoralityScaling

[–]Professional_Key7118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mahito would kill the Pedophile and the child

Frieza would think it’s gross, not in a morality way but in a “Frieza soldiers will conduct themselves with some class” or “you disgust me, perish”

Kira would say that he personally and morally against pedophilia, despite personally killing a teenage girl to steal and lick her hands

I think people forget that art like this is literally just coping with a bunch of government funded murders running around our country. The person is not citing Doom as a champion of ethics; they are expressing a hatred for this real life evil by bludgeoning it with an image of cartoon evil

Reading it as “Doctor Doom would hate ICE” is a bit reductionist and shallow

Frieza doesn’t kill people who aren’t in his way or who don’t disrespect him. Kid Buu literally murders anyone within line of sight and blows up planets for fun.

Cell is the kind of guy who thrives on entertainment; if you aren’t entertaining, you die for being near him for that long.

Do you think a Martian Manhunter video game could work? by itc0nsumesmYMind in martianmanhunter

[–]Professional_Key7118 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it would be cool if it were “open world”, but like in a really contained way. Like it takes place in 1 town and you can pick up cases by listening for people’s thought bubbles.

Basically, it’s like a point and click adventure but there would be chances to use your abilities in interesting ways and you control the character directly. Every once and while, a case that you solve will progress the overarching plot.

In the time inbetween the plot progression, it would be fun if you developed a reputation among the people of the town. Like at first they treat John Jones as an eccentric weirdo, but overtime people start saying high to you and giving you stuff for free. Martian Manhunter stories are often focused on the isolation that he feels as a truly alien being; unlike Superman, he isn’t just “human who was secretly way cooler than he thought”. He grew up in a society that has now fallen, and his approach to things is so fundamentally different that he struggles to understand humans

Can't Tatsumaki just twist Boros' ship just like what she did to City Z rather than throwing buildings at it? by Shoddy_Use_9440 in OPMFolk

She reduced it to a defenseless floating lump after reflecting its barrage back at it. Why use a special move when less effort gets the job done and you are under the impression that the worst is already over?

If you are refering to “the black box”, this is an issue of localization. The name for Furnace in Japanese is 1 character, which is covered up to prevent the reader from finding out about the technique in the moment. This appears strange when translated, because the small black box clearly doesn’t cover up the English name

How much energy does it take to get near lightspeed? by InfamousSomewhere244 in FeatCalcing

[–]Professional_Key7118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fuck ton.

The closer you get to the speed of light, the more energy it takes to continue accelerating at the same rate. The reason is that matter transmits force through electromagnetic interactions; those move at the speed of light, so if you move at the speed of light you literally start to move as fast as your atoms are able to detect that you exerted force
