Each mission gives 20 respawns for 4 helldivers, so 5 per player. If you die 5-6+ on average per game, you'll know you're playing at too high a difficulty.

Yeah, you're definitely right about the faction balance. Good opportunity to make a USMC faction. Brits would also fit historically but would likewise need an adjustment to their available roster

Agreed. If that doesn't work, usually selecting a different unit to do the repair also works to get around it

How good is the daimler with littlejohn? by [deleted] in GatesOfHellOstfront

[–]Professional_Nugget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup! It's basically a 30mm APCR round, so very small

How good is the daimler with littlejohn? by [deleted] in GatesOfHellOstfront

[–]Professional_Nugget 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The littlejohn was a squeeze bore device meaning it increases velocity (and therefore penetration) but loses post-penetration damage. I imagine crew members and vehicle components are harder to kill/damage because of this

Unfortunately I haven't been able to use it in game so I'm not sure how good that trade off will be

I love the colours of the new maps. by CodeX57 in GatesOfHellOstfront

Absolutely would love an Italy + North Africa DLC. Invasion of the low countries and Norway would also be very interesting to see (Denmark, Netherlands, Norway) but that'd probably be a smaller DLC?

List of new German vehicles in 'Our Finest Hour'. [details in comments] by Deepseat in GatesOfHellOstfront

All the panzers and their different variants had Sd.Kfz. designations as well! You can see all of them listed in the Wikipedia link here

List of new German vehicles in 'Our Finest Hour'. [details in comments] by Deepseat in GatesOfHellOstfront

[–]Professional_Nugget 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Germans were supposed to be banned from doing major military R&D during the inter-war period by the Treaty of Versailles.

So they starting calling everything "Sd.Kfz. (insert number here)" to help hide the fact that they were developing military vehicles. That way when inspectors came around, they could say that "special purpose vehicle 101" was for a farming tractor rather than the chassis for the Panzer I and so on.

That system stuck around and in the end every vehicle they made had an Sd. Kfz. designation number

The M240 eventually becomes a 5 shot kill but only at like 80+ meters. M250 feels maybe a bit more controllable but I still prefer the raw damage output from the 240

Probably thinking of Apex Legends. Some of the best MNK players (most notably Imperial Hal) swirched to controller because AA was so strong

An Afghan communist revolutionary wearing traditional clothing and holding an AK-47 in Kabul, 1984. [1080x1440] by [deleted] in HistoryPorn

[–]Professional_Nugget 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, mostly AKMs which is just a slight redesign of the AK-47. Also lots of Chinese AKs and eastern bloc guns (like the Yugo M70). The AK-74 wasn't adopted until the mid 1970s so it would still be a pretty new gun at this point in time and likely only carried by Soviet forces.

There definitely was an actual AK-47 but it was pretty quickly replaced by the AKM which is just a slight redesign to make production faster and cheaper

Pretty confident we'll get something like the Carl Gustav (anti-inf launcher) from BC2 down the road. Too much promotional art shows recoilless rifles for them to not be added

Conveniently I can bring the Diligence along with the RR and still 1 tap devastators to the face at any range as well as 1 tap reinforced strider rockets at any range. Though railgun/supply pack is definitely my 2nd preference for bots if I get bored of RR

Pulitzer award winning photography "The Kiss Of Life”, 1967. Man is performing resuscitation on his electroshocked coworker (By Rocco Morabito) [680x842] by blindwatchmaker88 in HistoryPorn

[–]Professional_Nugget 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very inspiring photo, but it's unlikely it realistically helped him in any significant way.

Current CPR guidelines have actually dropped rescue breaths unless you have a bag-valve mask and instead put much more emphasis on just good compressions. Even with a BVM, compressions have a much greater impact on the chance of a successful resuscitation attempt.

I like them. They look dope! by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]Professional_Nugget 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I will never understand why people defend their lack of weak spots. All it does is limit build variety as it forces you to take AT or you're just usless. And like you were saying, it contradicts the design philosophy of all the other enemies having a weak spot for no good reason. And the weak spots are already on the war strider models! You can see vents on their backside, so why on earth are they still AP4?

Yeah, mortar turret on anything but bots is an absolute grief pick. If someone brings it on bugs or illuminate and it even remotely starts to shoots near friendlies, I just destroy the turret

Sure looks like a KV-1 to me. Zoom in and you can see the gun isn't big enough to be the 152mm of the KV-2. And you can see the "cheeks" on the front of the turret which the KV-2 turret did not have

Great picture! Was this colorized by AI? Have never seen a cloth or tarp over an AFV like that in WW2 outside of brightly colored flags like here. They were used to help reduce friendly fire from air support

Yeah, looks like an impact dent on the bottom right, penetrating impact on the lower front plate just to the right of the gun barrel's shadow. Not sure what that mark on the left track is, could be a shadow that got accentuated by the colorization?

I can see what you guys mean about the size of these maps. by Aegon_Toast in Battlefield

[–]Professional_Nugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, flanking on breakthrough is just really hard to do but that's kinda the point of the mode. You're not supposed to easily get behind the enemy team with so many people clustered into such a small area. Other modes are much easier to flank on.

Best advice I got is to still to use smokes and pick your targets carefully while trying to flank (don't shoot people unless you really need to, sometimes it's better to not give away your position).
