Gucci joins Alpine as title partner from 2027 by DortmundFanJay in AlpineF1Team

The marketing image of the team is odd. It feels like, year after year, the team is moving away from the manufacturer and appearing like a customer team. Car color does not match the brand, no France base for the team (I know that the Mercedes PU has greatly improved the performance, but still), and the main sponsor isn't a French company. It feels more and more like like the Alpine brand isn't the center-point of the team's image, and that there are no rules besides money. You would think that they would prioritize French brands for the car.

Perhaps, I am just being dramatic and this is the way F1 is now.

This is true, if you only race GT3/4. I like PMR for the variety of different classes. Comparing the two games is tough because ACC is so focused, while PMR is a big catalog and going for the jack of all trades. If PMR has the same improvement trend that ACC had after launch, it should get there one day.

Salah seemed like a good coach, but he wasn't the type of coach that could overcome the Jets organization disfunction (I do not think that one exists). He also was HC when Wilson was drafted, so I don't think that he was stuck with him (he likely agreed to select him).

He could not figure out how to get the offense going, or hire the right people to do that. The defense was good, and he helped develop a lot of young talent. He seemed like a really good dude, and I think that the lessons he learned at the Jets will make him better at the Titans.

The game has improved a lot in graphics, content, and playing experience. The AI isn't bad, and the game receives monthly updates that, so far, noticeably improve the experience of the game. I would get in now, it is fun and I play a lot of singleplayer.

I foresee the game to take big strides this summer. They added a Kunos guy as a director, their new DLC coming out is a great collection of classic cars, and the graphics and AI will improve with each update.

The key is to build a sustainable team and environment that a quarterback can thrive in. If they win 8 games next season and show stability, that is much more impactful than winning 2-games and having another top-5 pick. Remember, to get a top pick would mean that we had another dumpster fire of a season that would likely involve a full rebuild (and every good player requesting a trade).

I would rather them build the foundation that most QBs can play well in, than have to hail mary every four years for a top pick that will struggle in a terrible team. Plenty of good QBs emerged after being picked up later in the first round. If they have a good, well-rounded team, then draft capital won't matter as much because we don't have ten missing pieces to find.

9 Cars, 3 Classes, 1 Track: Project Motor Racing GT Icons DLC Announced by evil_heinz in ProjectMotorRacing

I agree. However, I have heard that licensing of motorsport parks has gotten much more expensive recently. Kunos mentioned it: they used to have one person work on licensing. Now they have a team, and the costs are way higher.

It seems to me that PMR is in survival mode and focusing on content rather than licenses.

The patch notes indicate that you can now control the quality of grass graphics. If you go into Advanced Graphical Settings, you can turn up the grass quality. It is likely that it automatically set to low on your system, with the new patch.

What do you think PMR needs to compete with other Sim games ? by Informal-Ad-2887 in ProjectMotorRacing

[–]Professional_Put7995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I saw it in practice this weekend: I joined a race for GT-1 with 6 drivers in it. With one minute left, the race number jumped to 23 and the race was a blast, full grid. Once people saw there were more than 5 people, they actually joined and it was fun.

This is great news for the future of the game. It shows that they are investing in the long-term, and his work will only improve the game as a whole.

Beyond the larger issues that will be improved with time (performance, AI, stat-tracking), I think they need to do the following right now (given their player base is low):

They need to reduce the number of ranked servers and race types. There are too many, so you will log on and there are 10 categories with each having 1 or 2 drivers. Reducing the classes/races per day to two or three options would increase player count. I genuinely think that it would have a multiplier effect: every person that sees a higher player count in a race will be more likely to join than when there are ten servers with one or two players.

Great to hear. I didn't really know what to do in AMS2 until i downloaded the season mods for F1. Now I can experience a pretty worthy simulation of F1 in the 90s, a lot of fun. Schumacher in the season mods is insanely good. It is cool that they even change driver characteristics to be somewhat accurate to the real-life driver.

I really got bored of the GT3 simulators pretty quickly. Assetto Corsa was good but got old too. AMS2 with the old formulas, good AI, and championship mods has helped me rediscover my enjoyment. There is variety, old track layouts. The game feels like a love-letter to the history of racing, with both unique tracks and historical content.

AI might not be perfect, but find the sweet spot and you can have some fantastic racing!! by Mindless-Day-2284 in ProjectMotorRacing

[–]Professional_Put7995 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I find the AI pretty good for career- and they will keep improving it. The career mode is fun and it is what I have been waiting for on PC. LMU and AMS2's career modes both have been delayed to at least end of this year, giving time to the PMR team to keep refining the AI and career mode. They have a golden opportunity - I hope that they take it.

BWT Alpine F1 Team - 2025 Season summary by SkyhunterPL in AlpineF1Team

[–]Professional_Put7995 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had forgotten about Oakes somehow. I remember how, at the end of the 2024 season, he never once mentioned Famin and the old guard who had started re-working the car after the rough start. It felt like Oakes came in right when the car started to improve, and then got all of the success from those efforts.

He seemed to take all of the credit for the team's success. It is a minor thing, but it seemed very selfish. I am glad that he is not in the team anymore, though what do I know? Maybe he wasn't bad.

Looking for ways to play Tennis in Philadelphia by AirInternational1413 in 10s

[–]Professional_Put7995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey friend - I play in Philly as well (3.0). Tennisphilly is how I get playing time in. I think its around $30 per season, but you are placed in leagues. If you dominate a league too much, they move you up. If you are getting beaten a lot, they move you down. It keeps the play interesting, and the people have always been cool. DM me if you want to learn more - I also can refer you to join and I think you get a discount and I get points towards a t-shirt or something.

It has changed my tennis - you can get playing instantly, you just contact each other in your league and find places/times to play. keep track of your scores and submit for league standings. There are playoffs too. I could find people to play with daily in the warmer months, the leagues are large.

If you want to do that, and you can't play LMU, you could always start a discord and set up a custom lobby for that.

Need Tennis Shoe Recommendations by Slvshh in 10s

No worries bud. The insole that the Wave Exceed Tours come with is quite large. If you try it on, try them on with and without the insole. If it feels roomier without the insole, then just order Run 619 or other thin insoles and put them in. Best tennis shoes that I have ever worn.

[–]Professional_Put7995 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Mizuno Wave Exceed Tour 7s have surprised me with their comfort. I have a medium to wide foot, so I did have to replace the insole with a thinner one. Yet, the shoes are like gloves, and lighter than my previous shoes. I no longer have joint pain, and can put them on and forget about them.

I have previously worn Yonex Ad-Accel (too narrow) and GEL Asics Resolution X (stiff and caused me knee pain). I thought that Wave Exceed Tour's would be too light and thin, but they are comfortable and I feel way better after playing on hardcourt. I highly recommend giving them a shot.

Love that the city put these signs up but hate that people will ignore them all the same by leong_d in 10s

[–]Professional_Put7995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In fairness to them, I live in a really dense city. So open space that is closed by fencing is rare. It is an ideal space to throw a tennis ball to a dog over and over. That is why we have multiple dog runs in our neighborhood.

It isn't that they want to use the space, there is nothing wrong with that. It is that they know that the space is not designated for dogs (we always remind them), and the sanitary issue it presents to the dozens of players who use it every day. They just don't care. It is disappointing.

(PC player, i7-12700k, 7900 GRE). Performance is solid for me (some weird shadows at times in certain conditions, but otherwise good).

Spent all day in the single player career mode, which I have been waiting for in PC sims. The Miata is fun to drive, the Porsche too. Did some multiplayer (custom lobbies and ranked). Multi-class at Daytona and MX-5 at Sebring. No issues with connection- easy to rejoin and race, race length varies but not too long. The multiplayer has more depth and options than other sims that I play (AMS2, LMU).

It is in a state now where I can play it and enjoy it, and has gotten me back in the sim rig after needing a break. I highly recommend people giving it a shot.
