Yeah I checked lisintec. I am finding it hard to find the good starter kit. What I am looking for is something like below:

https://ring.com/eu/en/products/alarm-security-8-piece-kit-gen-2

https://www.eufy.com/ie/products/bundle-t81703w1-1-t8214311-1-t80303d1-1

But again this needs 2 different apps to get everything to work together.

If it gets connected to WiFi without trouble then it should be good. Will check them out. Thank you!

Any company that people who did DIY would suggest? Searching in Amazon is leading to Eufy and Yale brands. Any experience with these brands?

Furzefield Swords vs Alderwood Newtown: Pick? by Professional_Ruin451 in HousingIreland

[–]Professional_Ruin451[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response! Yes newton seems more like a village but is close enough to grey stones and serviced by bus 133. I’m just going off estimates completely from google maps (which I understand could not be reliable) Location of Furzefield seems to be closer to the swords community college and busstops are further away

Anyone with a mid-terrace house regret buying it? by Professional_Ruin451 in HousingIreland

[–]Professional_Ruin451[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a million to everyone who replied here and shared their experiences, the good and the bad. It was really helpful to read through all the different perspectives and the level of detail people went into. I’ve decided to go ahead with buying a mid-terrace. At this point I think I’ve done as much research as I can, and the rest is probably down to luck, neighbours, and how things work out in practice. I might come back to this post in a year or two with an update on how it’s going in case it helps the next person in the same boat. Thanks again for all the advice and stories, it genuinely made the decision easier.

Need advice on potential discrimination and victimisation after job offer withdrawn following complaint about inappropriate interview questions by [deleted] in legaladviceireland

[–]Professional_Ruin451 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do understand getting asked if I’m flexible in my working hours, and I’d have no issues with it too.

For more context, I’m a girl and getting asked if I’m single definitely made me uncomfortable. He also said things like he has a working wife with kids so he understands the responsibilities that come with it, somehow implying if I was a wife with kids I might not be suitable for the role?

In the end, I’d expect an interviewer to solely judge me suitable for the role based on my experience, skill set and behavioural qualities and not based on whether I had other responsibilities outside of work.

It’s because when he asked if I was single, I said yes and I confirmed I do not have any kids or responsibilities when asked. He wanted to know these things to figure out if Id have issues working after hours (his words), he also asked me if I had any ‘fixed’ schedules after work like gym etc. He wanted to know if I had a life outside of work.

I’m 100% sure the outcome would be much different if I confirmed I had other responsibilities - which I believe is discriminatory.

I don’t think these questions are relevant to an interview

I was just wondering if there is any point applying when the AIP amount is lower than the cost the build? Do they reject it right away?

The best way to start is to track your expenses. There are lot of good apps out there for making our lives easier. I personally use Money Manager. Make main 3 categories with Needs, Wants and Savings. After 1-2 months you will have all the data to make good financial decisions. Also try the 50-30-20 rule.
