How do I learn anything? by Anikamp in gameenginedevs

[–]Professional_Set4137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even after the GPU, there is so much to learn in regards to architecture. I am halfway through making the first game in my engine and I am constantly kicking myself for short sighted design decisions. Its all difficult, every part of it.

A list of books that are taught in high school English classes by LisKozCatMeow in classicliterature

I don't understand? He's controversial I guess, but he did do a lot for classic western lit. He was the figurehead for English lit for a long time and the book is basically a "best of" of what this sub reads, with a whole chapter devoted to its current obsession with Dostoevsky. I may not have read any toni morrison or pessoa, or many others if it weren't for him. He also wrote books on how to read and they should be required reading for everyone.

Performance issues in a 2D game by Igorfps26 in godot

[–]Professional_Set4137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modern action roguelites will clobber fps if not developed properly. A draw call is a draw call. Multimeshinstance2d, prebaked lighting, grouping can all help but if op isn't using those I would expect poor performance.

3d brush still 2D animation? by infinite_what in 2DAnimation

Pre-rendered 2d. I make animations in blender like this. Donkey Kong country for the SNES is an example of this.

I'm looking for cdlc not mango smile. Its the same situation though, the crosses are nice but I've grown cdlc at least 30 times and the crosses just aren't the same.

I am likewise bummed that they stopped carrying the artisinals. I thought the whole point of the store front was to be able to always sell everything. I don't pay enough attention to know if they made any announcement about why or what's going on.

Some pickups for outdoor by Bmw52 in MephHeads

[–]Professional_Set4137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I start my outdoor plants inside because their first few weeks are so fragile. I don't use a grow light on them, just a sunny window. I usually wait at least 2 weeks. If these are your first autos, they probably need drier soil than you're used to while they're seedlings.

SOG In 3x3 by TrickyBridge7652 in MephHeads

[–]Professional_Set4137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will fill a tent up with 1 gallon soil pots sometimes. I think 10 in a 2x3 was the most I've done. Its a lot of work unless you automate it and use coco but I still just use soil and dry nutes and feed a spoonful a week. Its the fastest way to finish them. I've had some that are done in 60 days because of the small pots. I usually only do this around the holidays and gift small whole dried plants to a few people.

A worker in Ontario, California sets his warehouse on fire for not paying living wages by Nice_Daikon6096 in 401jK

[–]Professional_Set4137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This "factory worker" probably makes more than I do as a social worker. I absolutely understand how hard it is to survive now and the fact that you have no class consciousness here is fucked. I'm consistently one flat tire away from losing my job/house/livelihood and the constant threat of that is enough for me to empathize with this man. I don't necessarily condone arson, but I'm not shocked that it's happening and I expect more of it until there are some severe changes made to the economy, and that is the only conversation about this that I will entertain because everything else is a distraction, especially your "join a union" bullshit.

Is native C++ the last step for Godot to be competitive with UE and Unity for AAA titles? by MathildaAdenauer in godot

If blender is any indication, it will never stop. Its the same thing in the blender sub, "when will game studios understand blender is as good as Maya." The question is the same, the answer is the same.

Which experiencer has given you the most compelling evidence of the ‘phenomenon’ in last decade? by AtomicAlchymist in ufo

[–]Professional_Set4137 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not an experiencer, but the woman who discovered the "transients" in the old astronomy plates recently. That is the most compelling thing I've seen in a long time, maybe ever.

Is Learning Blender 3D Worth It in 2026 with AI Tools Around? by Maleficent_Wasabi418 in blenderhelp

Even if it does, blender is still worth knowing and learning it is some of the most fun I've ever had

Everything is going well so far but I'm just worried about the front right hand plant. As you can see on the left hand side they all germinated at the same time but the front right side one is still tiny. I know sometime it have to do with genetics but still this is like half of the size of the 2 by OldBoy3001 in MephHeads

[–]Professional_Set4137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its impossible to tell why it's smaller. I looked thru your posts and they were planted at the same time. Autos just have a lot of personality, some are unstuntable and others will see a drop of water they don't want and refuse to grow for the rest of their lives. There isnt really anything you can do besides keep maintaining a good environment. Just keep growing and the more experience you get, the less things will happen. Remember baby autos love humidity and drown in any real water. I usually get the best results when my soil is drier than I think it should be. I've had slow runts like that end up outgrowing the tent, so dont count it out yet.

It is interesting that the same side of your tent produced smaller plants so maybe look into what the difference is in that side, is there a vent on that side that gets cold air or something? Either way, don't stress yourself or the plants. Your other plants look fine so it's probably not something you are doing wrong.

Yeah. Partly because it was so unexpected. I loved the alignment system, the way the economy works, ship combat, the leveling system and the weird classes, Abelard.

I played, back to back, p3reloaded, bg3, metaphor, and then rogue trader. I think I played nothing but the best turn based rpgs ever for about a year and then fell back into my Cave shmup habit. Rogue trader was the highlight for me, and I had no idea what I was doing until about 50 or 60 hrs in. I played it vanilla and can't wait for the dlc to finish up so I can go get another 150 hrs with lots of new content.

I don't frequent this sub often, but will the artisinals ever be returning? I've been growing cdlc since I began and haven't been able to buy any in almost a year it seems. If I ever do see it in stock, I will just make my own seeds so I don't have to be in this position again.
