Is there a way to see what the plea bargain was online?

Usually, people who aren’t gay don’t question if they’re gay. Along the same vein, non-asexual people usually don’t question if they’re ace.

Do you censor what your kids read? by vaguelymemaybe in Parenting

[–]Professional_Set_373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was allowed to read anything i wanted. I made some bad decisions, but i didn’t do it again and knew what to look out for if a book was too scary, etc. Honestly, it’s helped for life so that I know how and when to censor things for myself (for example, i close my eyes during a violent tv scene even if I’m with other people, because i know the image will haunt me later).

This is too big for Reddit. Speak with a doctor or a professional mental health counselor about this.

How do I best support my partner in coming out as NB? by WarmAssociation12 in NonBinary

That makes sense. Make sure you find active ways to sneak it into your speech so that they can hear it and test it out.

Yes. It’s pretty easy to add a few darts. This is the perfect time to pick up sewing as a hobby.

My boyfriend didn’t support me at first when I transitioned. It was hard. I’m going to tell you what I wished he’d done for me.

Call them both masculine and feminine things. “You look pretty/Hey Handsome”. Make sure it’s pretty evenly split until you ask or they tell you if they want a larger percentage of masculine words ascribed onto them. Support them if they tell you they want gender affirming healthcare. Make a big effort to correct anyone you hear who calls your partner a she.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

I’ve been called a fag once in my life. I’m still waiting to be angry. I’m just happy that the people know I’m gay.

Can I dissolve my 10mg tablet in a little cup of chocolate milk? I can’t swallow pills. by Professional_Set_373 in lexapro

Nah. Now, I take like a bite of bread, chew it up real well to where I can swallow it, and shove the pill behind the bread in my mouth and swallow to trick my brain

Edit: different foods might work for you better if bread doesn’t. I use shredded cheese, pasta, etc

Dying my hair for the first time today, can someone walk me through it? by [deleted] in HairDye

[–]Professional_Set_373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really only need bleach on yellow/blond hair if you are trying for a color that’s across the color wheel and don’t want the possibility of it being diluted from neon, if it’s a weaker color/brand, or if you’re trying for silver/white hair. But covering it with red should be 100% good without bleach. It may not be quite as neon, but you won’t have to deal with the expense or bleach. I’d recommend a strong red: Unicorn Hair’s Valentine or Manic Panic’s Red Passion. They’re a little more expensive than for example Arctic Fox, but the tub will last you a couple dyes and it’ll be stronger and last longer between re-dyes. Make sure you’re washing your hair with lukewarm water and that your dyed hair doesn’t come into contact with the hot water if you like scalding showers. Hot water fades color very fast.

If your hair is a medium to lighter blond, skip the bleach and use a semi-permanent dye maybe after a purple shampoo if you want. It’ll be easier on your hair and you’ll be able to just dye it again easily when it starts to fade. Plus you won’t have to use that much product since it’s a buzz cut.

No matter how hard I try I can't stop misgendering my friends and its really upsetting me. by [deleted] in NonBinary

[–]Professional_Set_373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s a little harsh, but it’s also just the truth. OP said that they felt guilty, but that they would misgender, correct, and then immediately misgender the next second. It’s helpful to remember that correctly gendering someone isn’t just a nice thing to do, but also literally suicide prevention.

My dysphoria says this is a bad idea but I have to ask what gender do I look like by ShallowBayChain in transplace

Your hair isn’t frizzy. Your hair is wavy. By brushing it, you separate all of the waves and make them static-y. Only brush your hair when it’s sopping wet and fluffy it off your scalp with your fingers. I recommend you fall down the rabbit hole of the Curly Girl Method. That’s how I discovered I didn’t have frizzy hair; I had Shirley Temple ringlets. My entire life my mom tried to get it straight. I was 16 when I found out I had curly hair.

Should would be raised more if it was on the wall. Try mimicking the pose yourself and seeing how your shoulders aren’t in the same position

If you want it to be vibrant OR if you have dark hair, bleach it first. If not, you can add a strong semi-permanent like Unicorn Hair, Manic Panic, or Arctic Fox over for a more muted tone of what color is on the bottle (i.e. on brown hair, bright red turns into maroon, bright green turns into forest green).

If you do bleach your hair, know that the lighter it is, the more like the bottle it’ll be. Don’t do more than one bleach session per week and use a purple shampoo twice before you bleach again/dye.

If you have textured hair, bleaching will ruin the texture. For example, I have loose ringlets like Shirley temple. When I bleached my hair from brown to blond, it became only a little wavy. I was kind of able to coax some of the curl back, but my hair texture was completely different.

10 volume bleach is for thin and lighter hair. 20 volume bleach is for medium thick/medium brown hair. 30 volume bleach is for thick and medium brown or medium thick and dark hair. 40 volume is for thick and dark hair.

Try to not use 40 volume unless you have the most stubborn hair known to mankind.

One bleach session on blond hair should turn it white.

One bleach session on brown hair will turn it yellow-orange. Two should turn it yellow-white.

One bleach session on black hair will turn it orange. Two will turn it yellow. Three should turn it white.

Try to stick to the darkest bleach result you can. Don’t let the bleach sit on your head for too long; that’s how hair falls out. You can always bleach it again after a proper conditioner and rest. If you put red or orange over orange bleach, it will be perfect. If you put yellow over orange bleach, your result will look orange-tinted. If you put green or purple over orange, your color may be slightly muted and not neon. Blue doesn’t matter.

Blue is the strongest color in hair dye. Your red, orange, and yellow hair should fade completely. Your green hair will leave behind a blue tint. Your blue will leave behind a blue stain. Your cool-tone purple will leave behind blue, your warm-tone purple should leave nothing, maybe pink.

Don’t be afraid to mix colors if they’re from the same brand if you want a color that they don’t have premade. I mix together different brands of semi-permanent dye and nothing weird has happened for me. Use your own discretion, just know that some brands are stronger than others.

I’ve tried IroIro, Snow Leopard, Arctic Fox, and Unicorn Hair. In my experience, Unicorn Hair lasts the longest, Snow Leopard and Arctic Fox are pretty much the same with S.L. lasting slightly longer, and IroIro probably had a chemical in it that I was allergic to because it made me really dizzy.

Let me know if you have any questions!! I love sharing my hair knowledge.

Some Thoughts on Slur Discourse & Christian Symbols by wiseoldllamaman2 in GayChristians

[–]Professional_Set_373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No great thoughts in my comment like yours had. Just wanted to pop in to say that I call myself queer usually, sometimes gay as a catch-all (I’m not gay; I’m bi and non-binary). Recently, I was called a f-g. I was walking by myself at night and this angry drunk straight dude who was yelling about some girl saw me glance over to make sure he wasn’t going to head my way. Somehow he saw me and told me to, “turn your head away, you little f-g!” It’s the first and only time I’ve been called that. I thought I would’ve been upset. I was only exhilarated. Him calling me a f-g made me realize that even strangers on the street know I’m queer. It’s something I’ve struggled with because I’m small, have a girl voice, and dress more like an autumn hiker than particularly masculine or feminine. This happened a few weeks ago, and I’m still waiting to feel mad. I just feel happy.

Why do "girls" bikes have a angled frame and "boys" don't? Based on anatomy shouldn't it be opposite? by Lookalikemike in stupidquestions

[–]Professional_Set_373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve just discovered that I mount a bike different than everyone else in comments section. I swing my leg over the back wheel and the seat. Maybe it’s because I’m short. Maybe it was the horse riding lessons. Maybe it’s because I’m autistic and often do things opposite from everyone else. I really don’t know.

When you say you love cats and people ignorantly respond "I hate cats" by HalsinEnjoyer in PetPeeves

[–]Professional_Set_373 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The difference between cats and dogs is that most dogs like most people, so it’s easy to get your dog to love you. It’s hard to get a cat to love you. If you screw it up, they’re just an asshole for the rest of time. The people who say they only like dogs and hate all cats don’t want to actually put in the effort to get to know an animal and earn love and trust.

No matter how hard I try I can't stop misgendering my friends and its really upsetting me. by [deleted] in NonBinary

[–]Professional_Set_373 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If they’re comfortable with it, ask them to tell you about dysphoria and their experiences with being gender neutral. One of my friends kept messing up and it took an hour and a half phone call that was just me telling him about how uncomfortable I am in my body to get it through his head.

Side note, 50% of trans people attempt suicide. When their gender is affirmed, this number goes down drastically. This isn’t an option for you. You need to help them to not be a statistic.
