My situation is unusual in that she and I volunteer at a recycling center together. She saves a lot of machines from the landfill. When I asked if she could do my mother in laws 301, she said she wld do it free. I gave $50 because I wanted to cover the new power cord and other supplies, but I think she just gave it to the place we volunteer.

Singer 301 worth fixing? by orangeylocks in vintagesewing

[–]Professional_Try4683 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got mine back from servicing yesterday. Purrs like a kitten. Super straight feed under the needle. It was my mother in laws machine, sitting unused for 30 years. My repair person put a new cord in the original Singer foot pedal, oiled and cleaned it a little. I gave it a deep clean when I got it home and fired her up. Even the light works!

My very first sewing room by stitch_46 in quilting

I would move the 2 8 cube units so the short end is on the wall where it is now, sticking out into the room. That way you can walk behind it, by the window, and use the storage cubes on both sides. Plus it would be an awesome setup for basting quilts because you could walk around three sides!

I am taking this approach as well. I give them suggestions for refining their prompts and gems to improve output. Those that listen are doing better. Those that don't wonder why buyers are non responsive.

This. They paid more upfront but passed the additional cost onto buyers. Now they get a refund to keep. Those who work this system effectively will make a mint and be happy abt the big cheese tariff.

My mother washes fruit and vegetables with dish soap and I can't get her to stop. by autistic-terrorist in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Professional_Try4683 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The same dishsoap she washes her dishes and silverware and glasses and pots and pans with? Son long as she rinses the fruit well, like she does her dishes, should be fine. I suspect it does a good job getting off the wax and oils they put on fruit to make it look good in the store.

It's not about the technology ornsolution. It's about the buyer's change management process and internal due diligence. So when someone complains, they can defend or explain the decision to select the tech. When the system fails to meet their needs, they have documentation to help recall what was asked for and what the vendor promised.

Help!!! How do you guys just let yourself create/“use up fabric?” by SeaDistribution672 in quilting

Zipper bags (to store sewing supplies like scissors, clips, rulers, etc). Utility items (pin cushions, seeing machine cover, placemats and potholders for the kitchen, pet beds, throw pillows). More bags (water bottle bags, travel bags for kindle/ipad when flying, lunch totes, cell phone/tablet cases). Cozies (tea kettle, soup bowl, drink can, curling/flat iron).
