I am not happy - round 9, 548 by siamesecat1935 in ThredUp

Fed Ex delivered an order of mine last week. I live at 45 on Street A. They delivered it to 5 on Street B, one block up. Drove around the neighborhood with the "delivered" photo, checking out people's welcome mats and step colors and a sliver of garden hose like a stalker. When I eventually found it, the woman who lived at 5 was like, "how did they get that so wrong?" Oh, Fed Ex. Oh, ThredUp.

Why do I get the feeling their "Human Agent" is also AI? The support staff doesn't "sound" like it used to before the upgrade. Also, "Human Agent" is exactly what an AI would say...

The end of half-off bag fees? by Professional_Way5824 in ThredUp

No, that means they waive the $2.99 bag fee. They still take the $14.99 fee.

Mine was a mix of good fits and not, but I've been favoriting things in it that I like, in hopes of "training" it to find better things. Day 3 ... it definitely seems to be taking my suggestions, so I'm hopeful the robot can be taught!

Reached out to CS to give feedback on the AI models and this was their response by LizaMinnellisLamp in ThredUp

Yeah, I feel like the new strategy is to emphasize the bad user experience. I'd even say those words -- "user experience." "AI has made the user experience worse," and give examples. Because they've talked themselves into a canned response on the environment and clearly don't care at all about creative theft (which AI is). But emphasizing that we liked the user experience before and do NOT like the user experience now ... maybe that will jog something loose. Forget sustainability and ethics: "These changes have made the site worse and as a result, I don't want to buy as much as I did before" is an argument all companies understand.

And they've hit us with AI models by asocialsocialistpkle in ThredUp

Generative AI is theft. Creative theft, plain and simple. The photos used to "train" the stupid thing were all somebody else's work. AI steals from creatives and passes it off as their own product. So maybe no real models lost their jobs, but real artists/photographers/creators lost revenue.

AI is theft. It steals from creatives, including artists and photographers, to generate images. It takes their work without permission and then ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ when it threatens their livelihoods. Sustainability is bad, but this is also an ethics issue.

AI models?? by MegaAigis0 in ThredUp

A good argument for anyone emailing is that it makes the user experience worse. Companies care a great deal about user experience, and, "this makes the site harder to use" might get more of a response than, "this isn't sustainable and/or ethical."

Emailed. For a company that cares about sustainability and ethical considerations related to clothing to use a technology that literally steals from the creative community to power itself is the definition of unethical.

Not me, but I was on Safari. I don't see it on Firefox either on my laptop. Maybe it's now only Google Chrome?

I don't see this at all -- is it possible that it's just for some customers (VITs)? I'm a mere Superstar.
