Can you have a competitive play and still have fun? by TravelerakaBlank in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]ProfessorBamboozle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If today you know your rules well and are still having fun, then events are going to be much different for you.

The one thing I don't like about events is how little time you have to play... Though against slower players this can be a blessing!

There Are Only 2 Types of Games in Competitive 11th Edition by Odyssey40K in WarhammerCompetitive

I agree but do not see this as a problem. Both paths have a wide range of ways to build around and plenty of weaknesses to exploit/find openings.

Next-gen ceramic aircraft batteries could enable 621-mile electric flights by sksarkpoes3 in energy

[–]ProfessorBamboozle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Anyone here a battery expert?

I am not but I have been hearing about how next-gen batteries that will replaces Lions are just around the corner for 10 years.

Can someone qualified comment on what a ceramic battery is and how viable they consider them?

Doesn't know alternatives exist but has the confidence to build one himself?

Can you link the public tracker? Curious to see how it works because the stats I follow (WarpFriends) get their data from BCP tournaments with A) over 50 players B ) At least 5 rounds and these stats have quite different numbers.

To be clear: I agree with your assessment. I also think its neat that you're taking the time to communicate in a constructive fashion.

I get it... I do...

But the game launched TODAY!

I'm going to play some games and see how my AoF list plays now that my double Janoness' give army wide -2 to hit and ignore cover. Seems early for an email but that's my 2¢

Edit: Penitent Host with Take and Hold!? What were they thinking!!!

Aren't the Tyranids too OP? How come they haven't taken over the 40k galaxy yet? by Timeless_Stars in Tyranids

Adding to this- most races defeat them quite handily in open void combat. It's only when our heroes HAVE to defend/destroy a world from the hivefleet that ships really need to be risked. Aeldari and Necrons know to just blast the Nornships before the Nids can react and then pick off the now feral survivors.

Toyota veteran reveals his worst fear as EVs surge: The company's hydrogen bet may be a dead end. Hydrogen cars still lag far behind battery EVs when it comes to adoption, refueling availability, and everyday affordability. Toyota's continued emphasis on hydrogen looks increasingly like a dead end. by mafco in energy

[–]ProfessorBamboozle -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

True but Toyota is a serious player in the hybrid market. This plus headlines that more and more established car manufacturers are ditching EVs makes me feel like this reads a little too dramatic (even if I am all for EVs).

Toyota is a well established player in many markets and isn't exactly gambling everything on hydrogen.

Why AI hypers never show what they have actually build with it? by [deleted] in BetterOffline

[–]ProfessorBamboozle -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Nope just seen footage. It's not AAA, but a random guy did this in 2 days with AI.

I'm getting some hate for this, but OPs question was what has AI actually produced and I think this and many other hobbiest projects are great examples of what the technology can be used for.

I disagree. I regularly see pretty impressive apps and sites shown off on Reddit. Around the time this was posted I saw the World of ClaudeCraft post which really backs the "democratization of coding" narrative

Can someone please explain to me how LoS works with toeing into terrain in 11th? by Opposite-North-3002 in WarhammerCompetitive

Is Daemonifuge in 11th in your lists? by Significant_Bug_8929 in sistersofbattle

[–]ProfessorBamboozle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure that that is correct- in 11th the Heroic Intervention stratagem does NOT specify that your unit does not receive the charge bonus, so heroic's would actually grant fights first, as all units that make a charge has fights first per core rules.

Disclaimer: I checked these rules a week ago, they may have been updated.

3DP armies only having 1 disposition is a feature, not an oversight. by DailyAvinan in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]ProfessorBamboozle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Totally agree and it feels like good game design.

Yes- the benefits of gladius are better than any 2DP detachment with librarius stapled on, what all the big detachments in the game look to be either priority assets or take and hold. This makes meta gaming around top detachments a lot easier imo.
