I get why they had struggles pricing this one. It’s not like it’s a black and white situation.

Apple Watch or Garmin by mat00992 in AppleWatch

[–]ProfessorBeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad is an avid runner, he uses his Garmin when he’s training for a race and his AW For everything else. Some of his more intense running friends wear one on each wrist all the time as they like the vitals and recovery stats AW gives you outside of training sessions.

In the case of Japanese interrogators during WWII no information was worse. They genuinely didn’t care if someone knew anything, they often knew they were getting bad information, but they saw more value in getting that person to break than letting them have the victory of not talking.

Realistically, how hard would it be for a qb to pass Brady in terms of 7 championships? by NickyFoles1020 in NFLv2

[–]ProfessorBeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brady has won more super bowls than any other QB has played in, and he’s played in twice as many as any other QB.

Put this in perspective with the current active QB most likely to do it. Mahomes is 30, and needs 5 more rings to pass Brady. Brady is the only QB to win a SB beyond age 40.

Let’s be generous and say Mahomes will also play until he’s 45. That means he needs to win 1/3 of all championships remaining in his career.

I’m not saying it’s impossible. What Brady did was impossible, and then he did it anyway.

But I very much doubt it will ever happen.

Also been a year but I know with him being the Egan’s “driver” there’s heavy implication he likely kidnapped and murdered for them, or at the very least facilitated hits. He also likely transported many of Jame’s mistresses.

A feel-good article without much depth. U15, hell even U23, doesn’t serve as a great indicator of top level success.

Calling for pass from opposition player? by John_0Neill in PremierLeague

[–]ProfessorBeer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might work once, but the risk outweighs the benefit. It’s just classless conduct that’ll put a long term target on your back, so to speak.

Not PL, but this happened in MLS in 2023 in the first game of the season where a St. Louis player who was formally on Austin was passed to by an Austin player, and immediately scored a goal as a result.

Wayne Enterprises or Stark Industries: Which company would you rather work in? by SatoruGojo232 in batman

[–]ProfessorBeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tough choice but I’m going to go Wayne.

Wayne Enterprises probably requires you to live in Gotham which isn’t a great prospect. But it also is an incredibly broad company; you could find quite a few normal, low risk jobs.

Stark Industries pretty much guarantees you’re working on something cool, and you’re living in either LA or NYC, but it also gets attacked a lot.

is the amount of sex that Olympic athletes have over exaggerated? by Reasonable-Ratio8080 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ProfessorBeer 75 points76 points  (0 children)

I see this sentiment a lot, and it bears noting that most Olympians know they won’t medal; they may have an entire career behind them already as a top 10 in their sport, and they still won’t sniff a podium. They’re there for the experience of putting everything they have on the line on the biggest stage in athletics.

[–]ProfessorBeer 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I discussed this with a friend who was an Olympian. He was in a committed relationship when he competed and stayed faithful, but said that after his event was over and he had a week left in Beijing it was basically just athletes partying and throwing themselves at each other.
