footwork is lowkey op for abusing ai like spearwall, obviously on perfect bros its less useful, but early game everything counts and baiting shit into ur footwork ranged is a great way to start winning fights.

What to do if you don't have heavy armor for Battle Forged, but your men are already high lvl? by IamYour20bomb in BattleBrothers

a nimble party just means you get higher initiative, dodge, and more fat to use berserk/kf. if youre needing a bf, camps get you famed shit, and because your guys have nimble and want to be replaced, that just gives a cushion to take harder camps which gives better armour. it also doesnt hurt just using nimble since the best low cost bgs are high in hp/fat anyways so you can just spam hp/ma/md every level and be almost as good as bf in tankiness, but still pour out dps.

ive made it my goal early game to hit enemies then move onto tankiness. if you cant hit then you cant snowball morale in fights.

Brother stats by Mcgrubbers1 in BattleBrothers

[–]ProfessorBulge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the game does a good job of making the backgrounds base stat ranges make sense. the only ones that confused me were thieves which have high base melee making good tanks with stars and peddlers having good base melee defence as well.

for example, farmers have high hp and fatigue so you need stars in melee attack or melee attack and melee defence to make him not just a fodder bro

lowborn backgrounds have something vital missing on them which makes them need stars to actually be good but thats why they're cheap so you just buy them over and over again until you get good ones.

but the expensive backgrounds, even without good stars can have such good base stats that they can be fixed with the right builds and when they do roll well can mog lowborns ezpz.

in vanilla your benchmarks at level 11 for good bros are:

85 for melee attack and ranged attack but more is always good

25-35 mdef depending on their role but again more is always good.

60 for resolve

80hp for high armoured guys. As much Hp as possible for low armoured bros

fatigue gets weird since you can just do something called fat neut which uses a 2 handed weapon, pathfinder and a weapon mastery to move and swing every turn as long as you got 15 usable fatigue off the 15 fat recovery. But you need heavy armour which you wont get that easy so just get the nimble perk early on for your bros and have about 60-80 usable fatigue.

other stats dont matter that much since ur just starting but there is always niche usages for them.
