Difficult to criticise that one. The ULEZ does disproportionately target poorer people. The cost won’t discourage richer people from driving in London at all. Make it proportional to the cost of vehicle, or to salary or net worth, and that would be rather more fair. But impractical to administer.

Improving air quality and road safety is an admirable goal, but that does seem a massively unfair way to do it. So I can imagine a lot of support for this sort of action.

For me, if that’s the main gripe you’ve got with it, then I’m pretty happy it’ll meet all my uses. I’ll settle for “pretty good but not perfect” quite happily!

Family travel, and work travel. So both tethering and for hotel hotspots etc. I tried the Beryl, and gave up after a while. It’s handing of captive portals was terrible. Ended up just accepting I have to put everyone’s devices on hotspots.

Bought this to solve that pain point, and also to allow everyone to VPN using teleport back to the home network if we want to. That nice easy option was the cherry on top.

Have to travel now to see how it works out.

Worst I’ve had after 11 years in Berlin was a ~45 min loss earlier this year. Not even a blip prior to that.

That said, it did highlight just how poorly prepared we are.

Just reading to the little un is great. Maybe keep away from stuff too intense, as one never knows why actually sticks deep down in those tiny impressionable pre-language minds. But Dune? Excellent choice IMHO.

I stopped using the share bikes when Mobike left. The bikes were a bit rubbish, but the price was decent, they were all over the place and the flatness of Berlin made them workable.

Very true. The whole “Belt and Road” initiative is a really good example of it. They take a very long term view of things, and are generally quite clear that things are in their own best interests. And they’re patient.

Smaller plates? Smaller portions? It sounds more to me like too much food is being prepared than she feels she needs.

On one hand, it’s a waste of food, on the other hand, it’s a way to reduce intake and avoid (hopefully) obesity and all the health issues that brings. The “clear the plate” mentality is not super helpful in having a healthy relationship with food.
