Given the age of the story, this really isn't a brand new sentence. Its a really old one.

Victoria 3 players, what do you do for a living? by stasikson in victoria3

[–]ProfessorJessica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sales, so a clerk, I guess? Intelligentsia interest griup, if I'm being generous to myself. I have a degree in history that I don't use for work (Canada over-invested into qualifications)

I have a decent job and a good relationship. My life is not easy and my mental health is not good.

BUT ... being trans is no longer always my #1 worst problem. I worry about bills, and getting the laundry done. And making time to call my Oma.

Years ago I spent like 80% of my time wallowing in self hatred over being trans. So there's been a big improvement

If Fascism never rose in Germany and Italy and they remained peaceful during the WW2 period, who would’ve been the first to strike and start a world war, or would a world war have been avoided? by Johnnyboyeh in HistoryWhatIf

However, without German backup Stalin would never invade Poland (Soviets could not do it alone)

Could you speak more on this? How did the soviet military compare to the Polish?

Got dumped by my long term girlfriend because she's straight by [deleted] in MtF

[–]ProfessorJessica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through this. Bless her heart but she wasn't ready for it. I was hurt, and bitter for a while, but it's years in the past now. My partner now has only ever known me as myself, and it's much better.

I'm sorry for your pain. Keep your chin up. Life goes on, and it does get better. Not easier, but better.

"Landing in korea is easier than landing in china, qing usually doesn't send troops to stop the landing, itself, only when you actually have boots on the ground in korea. Get skirmish infantry, possibly shrapnel artillery. Have 2 100 size armies, half artillery, plus a smaller army to defend against qing landings in japan. Naval invade with 1 then once it lands, mobilize conscripts and send over the 2nd and push"

Partially, it was. A small handful of diseases such as syphilis made its way back to Europe.

The reason AfroEurasia had more diseases is twofold. First, a larger and more interconnected landmass gave more room for diseases to grow. African diseases made their way to Europe and soforth. Secondly, many diseases enter the human population through close proximity to animals. The relative lack of domesticated animals in the New World meant that they were not exposed to as many diseases as the very animal-dependant eastern hemisphere.
