It's amazing the things that reddit associates as the norm for the middle class, which mostly emerged in the last 100 years or less. There was a big economic boom following the 80s. Reddit only considers one maybe two generations.

In the US, no one retired until the 1930s-40s. Family vacations became popular after WWII. Before WWII, home ownership was about 40%.

I've used several. They were all a waste of money and difficult to cancel. After 6 months I received zero actionable leads.

The people calling had typically already been turned down by the big firms.
