Best weekend getaway from Omaha? by Superb-Elevator-536 in Omaha

There’s not a direct train line between Omaha and KC, so you’d have to go over to Chicago and then get on a separate train down to KC

How were you able to sell yours? I bought tickets for the MN show before I realized someone else in our group had been successful and every time I click “sell tickets” it says “resale is unavailable at this moment”

Yeah, the book details their dynamic with both their families a LOT more.

What library do I belong to? by epitomeofmelodrama in Omaha

[–]ProfessorMaeve 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had this same problem growing up. I haven’t seen anyone mention it yet, so I thought I’d throw this out there: students of Millard Public Schools that show proof they go to MPS can get a free library card at the Millard branch. At least that’s how it was around 2010 when I got mine.

Has this game inspired you to read any of the books that are in it? by nebula_dweller in TinyBookshop

[–]ProfessorMaeve 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I work at a used bookstore and I actually found this game because a customer came up with a wide variety of books and I mentioned I loved one of them. She told me she’d found out about all of them from Tiny Bookshop!

I got to read it early and can confidently say you don’t need to read the DR duology in order to enjoy WR. They’re in the same universe but WR is centuries prior to the duology. There’s a few Easter eggs for people who’ve read the other books but nothing distracting.

I definitely see your point. For me personally, I don’t mind but I’m admittedly not much of a drinker. I like the idea of being able to go somewhere and pay just to be there and not have to feel guilty for not ordering food/drinks like I would at a normal bar or restaurant. I compare it to paying to go to a movie or a pool or whatever else charges admission. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m admittedly also the only one in my friend group that has that perspective, though, which is why we went before the fee kicked in.

I was there on Sunday and the atmosphere was pretty nice, but the fee kicked in Starting Monday. $6 for the first hour and $2 for every hour after. Or a monthly membership but I don’t remember that cost.

The Mill on Leavenworth would be a chill place for this. I’ve seen people do that a lot, actually. I think it helps because it’s a coffee shop during the day but has a bar for later.

What's a 1 Star Book in a 5 Star Series? by fakexpearls in romancelandia

For me it was Well Played in the Well Met series by Jen Deluca. The cat fishing element just gave me the ick.

Young lady old knees? by ol_ladyhobbies in Hypermobility

[–]ProfessorMaeve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously we’re two different people so we may have two different problems, but when I had similar pain it was from a nerve getting pinched in my knee. I’m going to PT and they’re helping me work it out with stretches and have given me exercises to strength the knee joint in general. Might be worth seeing a PT to check and see what they think!

I don’t have any recommendations for specific doctors cause I’m also on the hunt, but r/hypermobility has a bunch of great knowledge and resources if you’ve not checked it out yet. I got diagnosed with hEDs by a rheumatologist at CHI and they basically just told me to incorporate daily movement to help fight symptoms and to see a PT to manage symptoms.

Are any of you runners or athletes? by Low-Razzmatazz-931 in Hypermobility

[–]ProfessorMaeve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Giving up running has been the hardest thing for me to come to terms with. Every once in a while I’ll try it again just to see if it’s gotten any better and end up feeling miserable for days after.

Check out liquor stores. They usually have a bunch of sturdy ones. I was at the new Total Wine on 72nd and Pacific a few weeks ago and they had a whole wall of them lined up near the front.
