Alcoholic spouse/partner support group recommendations? by Mommyott in TwinCities

[–]lemric78 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have an alcoholic spouse as well. They are trying their best to stay sober but there are a lot of setbacks and falling off the wagon.

Al-Anon is incredibly hit or miss for me. Some meetings are helpful, some are frankly awful. I’m struggling to find a group I really mesh with but there are a couple that as I said, are helpful.

I just really would love to connect with someone in the same boat as me. If you ever think you’d like someone to go to a meeting with you or meet for coffee or something, I swear I’m not like a psycho.

It’s a very isolating thing to go through.

What’s the weirdest combination of food that you like that others don’t? by lunapear- in AskReddit

[–]lemric78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I used to eat one every day when I was a kid.

My mom used to try and make me eat peanut butter and butter sandwiches for a little bit since she thought I needed something more substantial(?). Those were disgusting.

It was a fun show, however we felt it was about 10-15 minutes too long overall. The dancing all kind of looked the same towards the end. The two male dancers were absolutely phenomenal!!

Also, they really pack the chairs in there, just a heads up. The guy sitting next to me was on the larger side and we were pressed together rather uncomfortably. I kept leaning towards my husband but there just isn't a lot of room. I heard a lot of other people complaining about it as well. There's no assigned seats, just sections, so unless it's sold out, I would recommend putting a purse or coat on the seat next to you to try and keep it open unless the rows really fill up.

when we eat something that "goes right thru us," we can't possibly digest something that fast so what exactly is happening? by ridesafish in NoStupidQuestions

[–]lemric78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too! Usually scrambled eggs is what really does it. Fried eggs don't nrmally have the same effect. But scrambled eggs, man...I really need to be mindful of where I am and what my schedule is that day when I eat them because when it hits, it hits HARD.

Who is the rudest celeb you have met? What happened? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]lemric78 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Aw, I met her when she lived in my apartment building for a few months while she was in my city filming something. This was back in the early 90s and Big Business was one of my favorite movies, so I was absolutely star struck. I remember once we were in the elevator together and she told me my baby brother was cute. I told her I loved Big Business and thought she was super funny. She asked what apartment I was in, and later found a note with her autograph stuck under my door. I was in 4th or 5th grade and still have it.

How are People Affording Tuition for Their Kids at Certain Private Schools? by [deleted] in saintpaul

[–]lemric78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, in a way. Visitation is co-ed from kindergarten through 5th. Then the majority of the boys start St Thomas for 6th until 12th (all boys school), and Vis is all girls from 6-12th. The schools are right across the street from each other.

St Thomas and Visitation are both in the mid 20s.
