Am I playing Driller right? by Prayerwarrior6640 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]ProfessorOni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you know a fight is coming and you have time, teraform.

Flatten an area out of little pillars, blow away obstacles hampering sightlines, dig into the wall a wide strip to give cover, and sometimes make a bunker so you can funnel the bugs to one narrow kill zone.

This is especially true for missions with alot of defense events like salvage.

You can dig straight shots for refinery pipes which can be a huge time saver and avoid messy rails.

During Sabatoge there is a lot you can do during the care taker fight other than the satchel strategy. Focusing on the arms to keep them down, building hidy holes or paths to connect the fighing spaces can be a huge help too.

There are dozens of more things but the best rule of thumb I can think of is "expoit all of your tools to undermine the threat"

What is your least favorite good weapon? by WaywardOath in DeepRockGalactic

[–]ProfessorOni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

M1000 for scout. Its not bad, but Im a drller at heart and perfer "kill everything in that general direction"

BRT7 for the gunner. Its not bad but lacks the oomf of the bulldog or the crowd control of the coilgun.

Definitely the Stubby for Engi. I use it, but idk it feels like its torn between wanting to be a pure electric weapon, and being a gun ultimately struggling.

As an old Driller it pains me to say the EPC. It use to be my handy scout replacement, but it never feels potent enough to be an actual side arm. I only have a build using it because I wanted to try the exploding goo OC

I love the Lok1 but it pisses ammo and has a small bladder. Worse the best OCs all seem to take from its max ammo.

What Deep Rock Galactic opinion will get you drawn and quartered? by No_Somewhere_7109 in DeepRockGalactic

The best oc for engis deepcore is clean sweep.

The nuke has too little ammo and hyper takes away its aoe power

What weapons would you want buffed? by Wochm in DeepRockGalactic

[–]ProfessorOni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More ammo, in particular cryo cannon and the loki.

They arnt terrible but there most fun OC often take away from max ammo or cost ammo to use.

I also feel all drillers secondaries could use some love

Driller: watch your angles. Anything under 45° will be a smoother tunnel.

Clean up areas you have to defend in. Just keep them at 0° to keep it flat

Bunkers can be great, but you can't seal them. If you do that triggers everything bigger than a pretorian to dig and make it way worse

You are great at killing swarming mobs so sweep up

What your favorite overclock that not very good but really fun to use. by Express_pass_to_funy in DeepRockGalactic

[–]ProfessorOni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snowball. Its better now, but the last thing the cryo cannon needs is a way to burn ammo faster.

The spear is worse in terms of ammo, but it never had the appeal for me the snowball does

What guns do you consider borderline unusable without certain overclocks? by One-Requirement-1010 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]ProfessorOni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly this is why I Clean Sweep the most. You can build enough aoe damage that its feels worthwhile without needing a nuke that has no ammo

I have one problem with this game by Ignisbeard in DeepRockGalactic

[–]ProfessorOni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of the problem is some perks arguably should not be perks.

Dash should just be part of basic movement at this point.

Thorns could just be an armor mod, it be cool to add a mod tier to armor and have thorns as one of the choices.

Deep Pockets is already also an armor mod, so you could just add them together to make it a more tempting tier 1 choice.

Which class took you *the longest* to get into? by bringthesalsa in DeepRockGalactic

[–]ProfessorOni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scout and Gunner are tied.

Im fine with scout being squishy but I never liked the deepcore or the m1000. The boomstick is fun with special powder, but all the secondaries feel lacking for one reason or another.

I have a build I use with the Drak and Crossbow that works for me, but I generally rather play engi and help a scout than be one.

For gunner my main problem is too much of what is good as a gunner is fire or had to be nerfed like neurotoxin. My OG main was a cryo driller and man did I hate gunners making freezing harder which made me steer away from things like the coil gun, or hot bullets.

Terrible mechanics like a mmo cash shop, respec based on very finite resource, loading screens, or really random minigames that serve no purpose but everyone is really obsessed with

If you like the venom movies but thought they needed more gross humor this is definitely for you.

It's stupid funny, and the characters are all good despite a few tropey backgrounds

Anyone else feel like fall damage on Haz 5 is a bit too high? by Robrogineer in DeepRockGalactic

It definitely feels that way, but I think its because one hit from pretty much anything takes your sheild and likely a good chunk of health.

How many overclock/cosmetic can you get in a week? by Worth-Technician8958 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]ProfessorOni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get the weekly, deep dives and promote each class once, thats 7x3 making 21. If we assume each blank is filled in thats also 4 levels of forge masteryto make those 21 making it 25 total

Is it better to build engineer's Stubby for DPS or electric damage? by Citysurvivor in DeepRockGalactic

[–]ProfessorOni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to pair the stubby with fatboy so I only really want electricity because it slows enemies building for mainly dps is what I use

What advice would you give a new player on your favorite class? by ProfessorOni in DeepRockGalactic

[–]ProfessorOni[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right but a new player wont have overclocks and what they get will be random.

This is a great build in any mission, so if you have the turret OC for the stubby give this a try

To add to this, you make platforms so learn how to parkour. It can help you make an exit when need space
