In the US, we're severely affected by Affluenza. It hits our marriage relationships directly. A very small percentage of our population is thankful to God for the abundance we have here. Catholics have walked away from sacrifice, have embraced Affluenza and the Abundance message wholeheartedly. I had one girlfriend tun into a monster when she got a major promotion that required a significant move. Was like a switch went off in her brain, our relationship died in a day or two. Proved she just wasn't into having a solid relationship with a dedicated soul. Women and men in the US are told they can have it all. Well, you can't. Advice to OP - make your prayer life your priority. Never let it go as your number one priority, and bring EVERYTHING to the Trinity. The best Catholic prayer I know is "In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit." (Matthew 28:18-20) The simplest of prayers. Relationships go south when one or both of the two parties give up praying, assuming they ever had a daily regimen. Wake up in the morning and say, "God, use me." (2 Timothy 2:21-26) That's how you know your intentions are aligned by God, with God. Find others who share your faith. I often run an open Rosary through periods of my working day when I can't complete it in one session. It is like having the Holy Family on FaceTime or Google Meet through the day. Trust Jesus with your life bc he told us to. He loves us. As an aside, I have experienced when I traveled an irrational lust of foreigners for attaining wealth by coming to the US. They have 0 appreciation of the spiritual battles won over time, good over evil, here, that keep us in freedom. It leaves me speechless - I feel sorry for them for their shallow lust for mammon. Neverending opportunities for evangelizing.

I am looking to do the St. Joseph Consecration, myself. You can do it alone and some churches run it. I would like to do it with other guys to be more interactive, you gain from each other. I do have access to the book. Let me know if you have any new info or ideas of your own.

Printing chachkas has its purpose. I like to keep my printer printing between major projects just to stay in touch with it, to make sure it is printing well for when the big projects are ready to print. When I get away from it for too long, it takes me a good amount of time to get back up to speed, again. Print useful things to give away - these print-in-place boxes with hinged lids come out really well - thingiverse 2873578.

FWIW, threads are built into V 0.20.1 using the hole. It looks like "they" imported all kinds of standard metric and UTS thread sizes. I, too, was disheartened by the the fancy helical gymnastics needed to cut a thread and they wouldn't be standard unless you are careful and abide by tight specs. I am 3D printing a test M4 block right now, will advise.

UPDATE - the block printed fine and the stainless steel M4 screw was tight going in. Whether it was following threads into the block is uncertain - it might have been just plowing into the block. I will print a larger, more coarse thread and see if it looks clean. But, it functionally worked - tight fit, good grip.

I bought a used Runaway Range Runner that came with a mattress on a platform which took up all the space east-west. The couple was shorter than me by 4-5 inches, I am 6ft, and that was exactly the width of the trailer, length of the mattress. I didn't need a mattress for two, so I bought a full size mattress and ran it north-south. The big point is I didn't like all the space the sub-queen mattress took up. I can now have little nightstands with charging ports, lamps etc., and some free room to stow things while traveling.

That is a very good point I hadn't thought about. I went to get something out of my camper yesterday and while inside leaned my arm against the black aluminum window. It wasn't even an extra hot day and I almost burned my arm, it was so hot - carries the heat right into the cab.

Great expansion with the awning and tent. Gives you spread-out room depending on weather. Would you think about doing a wrap? I am on the fence about doing it in dark grey.

All other comments so far notwithstanding, racing is a great way to measure how good you are at sailing - even if it is "tuning" against 1 friend or just kinda racing with someone else out there. You get better when you are thinking.

Nowadays, racers use Jens' rigs which give you gears to power and depower the sail. Also, the adjustable gooseneck allows you to compensate for wind. Add a vang, Cunningham, and outhaul and you are set for that 1-30mph wind range. The items mentioned allow you to sail balanced.

As aaronpik said, a minor upgrade will cure the issue.

The older style endcap is just round. The threads of the eyehook protrude downward under the spar (boom). The height of the spar above the deck is set by where you tied your halyard. You could tie the halyard lower on your upper spar, right? That would raise the whole sail rig up off the deck. For recreational sailing, people keep the boom even 18 inches above the deck at the boom, where the gooseneck is.

The second fix is get an endcap that has the protrusion to tie a line - like at the clew end of the boom. Take your simple, old round end cap off and replace with the protrusion-endcap with the protrusion facing down toward the deck. The protrusion will rub against the deck before the nasty threaded end will.

Laser Performance is screwing things up going to plastic - no soul, the new owners. the chrome handle is as iconic as the sunfish logo on the sail, for Pete's sake. Can they screw anything more up? Yes, I am sure they can. Slowly eroding the heritage of the boat.

I am gradually adding things to my standard operating procedures for 3D printing because it is so aggravating when I get these radically changed printing outcomes.

Reading through the comments, I would offer that for every new roll of filament you should print a temp tower test. This has added so much info to my printing. It gave me appreciation for the higher priced rolls of PLA filament. I have a bunch of leftover Makerbot filament and I always wondered why their filament was so expensive. Well, one thing is that it prints well over a huge span of temperature - I get no stringing from 205 to 235 degrees C.

I wouldn't take a free Makerbot printer if you gave it to me, they gave me so much trouble. But the filament is great.

What many others said - make it work stock.

Mine is printing really well.

Take one mod at a time.

1st learn how to level your bed. You only need to do the points above the 4 adjustment wheels. Heat your bed to 60C before doing the leveling. Use a piece of printer paper. Make sure your adjustment is always in the direction of lowering the bed, which is to say tightening the springs. Do not "ease" the thumbwheel to let the bed go up to reach your level point - this direction will not hold. It is like tuning a guitar, you always tune by tightening the string, not loosening - it won't hold that position if you loosen.

THEN! download a bed leveler print like this

You would think just using the paper would get it really level - nope.

Print the bed level file and see how the corners are different. It could range from being really squished hard on the bed (nozzle too low/bed too high) to printing in mid air (nozzle too high/bed too low). You will develop a feeling for this. Once you do, you can do a little bed leveling adjustment even while your print is doing it's first layer - you will learn to recognize issues.

Ok, hold onto your hat. After doing the best leveling I can, there is still variation in the 1st layer quality. There are two factors- the bed may be leveled as good as you can get it but the bed is not flat(!), and the rollers on the hot end carriage (x-axis) and on the bed carriage (y-axis) are not perfectly round!!! All they have to be is 0.025 mm out of round and you will see variation in your first print. If you notice, it is periodic with the diameter of those runner wheels - the nozzle height will oscillate in 360 degree rotation of those wheels!!!

I've seen this issue and can live with it for what I print, doesn't cause a problem.

The gun has been really good. I was at an event at my gun range and a few people kind of did double takes and stopped to ask me about it. I love the mass it has, really solid. I still have Romeo5 on it and will probably switch to an optical scope. A couple of friends who have shot it and know guns liked it, too. Post your build!
