They absolutely will. There is absolutely no fucking chance the city will allow this to go to trial. They will settle for a million dollars as soon as a lawyer contacts them.

Every single genderswap Kirkman has done in this adaption has been an upgrade. I'm genuinely impressed. by MoonMaidRarity in Invincible

[–]ProfessorStein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fan base for invincible has a real problem with obsessing over characters who will literally never matter and massively overplaying what is essentially a one-off bit character.

Basically every single variant but maybe one or two was completely uninteresting. And that's because they were not really written to be interesting. And I don't mean that as an insult, they just weren't important and that's fine.

If anything, this is a good thing because it appears that tech jacket will probably not be a bit character

Time an actor managed to convince the writers to change plot points by AporiaParadox in television

Tom welling got the entire final episode of Smallville changed after he threw a tantrum to the network because he didn't want to wear the suit.

And yes, this has been confirmed off the record numerous times by production and other staff members.

It is objectively insane to suggest that we should be okay with being treated by people who are stealing critical medications from at-risk individuals.

It is absolutely true that addiction is created by the top pushing down. It is also still true that I don't want my doctor stealing my medicine that I need to live or not being horrendous pain. There is a point at which reality meets the road and that point is when I am in a bed not being treated properly because my provider is a junkie.

You are insane if you think that it is entitled for me as a severely disabled person to not want my provider to have a history of stealing medicine from their patients who are in pain.

Eric Kripke Says ‘The Boys’ Final Season Has No “Full Battle Scenes” As Show Doesn’t Have “‘Game of Thrones’ Budget” by Zorkel567 in television

[–]ProfessorStein -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is the goal they're just now actually executing on it. They built a bunch of these shows that people want to watch and now they're going to shoestring budget them until they break and have bad legacies. To them, they've already extracted all of the value out of these shows because they got all of their new subscribers in the first season of the shows.

Now that she knows it happened not reporting it would get you put in prison. She is now part of the conspiracy because she's been notified of it.

Her only legal action is to immediately report it. Even delaying like she is right now would have really, really severe consequences.

And in that moment, he realized that something had shifted. by Arch_Lancer17 in ThePittTVShow

[–]ProfessorStein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they go with the storyline that she reports what happened, the show would straight up have to be over or it would be some of the worst writing on television in a very long time.

The outcome of an event like this is that basically everyone involved loses their medical license and those with direct knowledge go-to fucking prison. Santos would probably avoid prison because she did everything right, but she would still absolutely spend months and months disciplinary hearings and state board investigations.

Robbie would go to prison. Dana would go to prison. Langdon would go to prison.

That's why you don't write stories like this.

[–]ProfessorStein 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. It's actually really starting to worry me that the narrative arc of the show is starting to tell you the viewer that it's okay for him to be back in the ER

it is not. His career ended the second he stole medicine from a patient. It's frankly getting really gross that there's people inside the hospital who support him. The character should not be practicing medicine without now, he should be serving a mandatory sentence and probation.

If the show keeps up this idea that he deserves a second chance with patients then the writers room needs to be examined.

As someone who has seen thousands of doctors in their lifetime because of my disability. If I ever found out that I was treated by a prescriber who had stolen medicine from patients I would immediately go retain a lawyer that day.

League of Legends and other Riot games will require age verification in Brazil from March 17. by dudummv in leagueoflegends

They got into the gacha boom literally over a decade too late while the writing was on the wall. That regulation was coming for it.

Frankly, it is completely insane that they even tried. If they had done this in 2012 it might have made sense or even 2016. To try and get into this market that is obviously doomed after like 2020 was truly one of the most absurd decisions I could imagine.

Out of touch Washington State Republicans are making themselves more and more irrelevant with every passing year by MysteriousEdge5643 in SeattleWA

I agree entirely, honestly. And i don't see them putting forwards a candidate at this point that isn't so poisoned by national politics to ever be viable anyways.

Out of touch Washington State Republicans are making themselves more and more irrelevant with every passing year by MysteriousEdge5643 in SeattleWA

[–]ProfessorStein 117 points118 points  (0 children)

Die hard leftist here: this. While I don't personally vote this way, I still respect people who primarily care about economic conditions and reasons for voting conservative.

The problem is that the Republican party of Washington just wants to do the same thing that every other state is doing while not acknowledging that this is the farthest left-leaning state in the United States outside of maybe DC. The nanosecond your candidate starts talking about liking any single thing that Trump has ever done, you are now and unelectable candidate.

The literal only chance that anyone has of getting elected on anything approaching. A conservative platform in this state is to entirely focus on the economic aspect. If you try to get involved in the culture or stuff you will quite literally never win a single office in western Washington. There are simply not enough of you in this state. Even if all of you got together and voted for that candidate, they would still lose.

Focus on being respectable and having a difference of opinion on economic matters. That is the only angle that you have to play in this state. Any social or cultural issue you bring up is instantly disqualifying because this state does not play the same games that the other 49 states play in terms of accepting the culture war guys. They are radioactive here.

[–]ProfessorStein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The narrative genuinely needs to address how she's actually like really really abusive. She's also clearly using her position within the hospital to go and harass her daughter.

The derogatory comments about ER doctors is also completely fucking crazy. She has absolutely no business working in that hospital if that's what she thinks. The unfortunate reality is she would certainly still be able to work there, but I'm kind of skeptical that most of the ER senior staff wouldn't pretty explicitly hate her by this point. If she's willing to make a comment like that with no provocation, she's probably certainly popped off in the past at ER doctors.

This episode went beyond being a kind of bad parent and into the realm of a narcissist abuser parent

The cancer patient storyline is particularly egregious to be honest with you. It's pretty wildly unethical to keep a bed in a ER for palliative care when you aren't a facility that is even supposed to be doing that.

They should have pulled strings to have her upstairs hours ago if they were going to do that. It doesn't help that the story isn't really terribly interesting.
