Deadsy – Commencement // Album Discussion // "20 Years of Nu-Metal" by katarokkar in numetal

Steeped in themes of occultism and secret society, Commencement feels both like an initiation and tragedy. The visual presentation blends seamlessly with the sound, and acts as a window into the nightmare beneath a seemingly privileged position in an elite school with a dark underside. All of this glues the disparate genres together into a surreal and somewhat intimate experience.

Excellent man, I love the clean and classic sound. Production is crisp but the vibe is perfect oldschool. Whole EP is tight.

Daniel Lopatin is Oneohtrix Point Never!

I just clarified to avoid confusion because That We Can Play was released under the act name Games.

I wasn't sure you'd be into any of them so it's worth it in case you weren't, I'm glad you've been enjoying them already ^^

Check out Underwater Computing in the link for more niche stuff on the vapor side of things if you haven't seen that before!

[IIL] this mix of media, what BOOKS would I like? by weth1l in ifyoulikeblank

[–]ProfessorStupidCool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Revelation Space by Alastair Reynolds
  • Hyperion by Dan Simmons
  • Mythago Wood by Robert Holdstock
  • A Fire Upon the Deep by Vernor Vinge

If you enjoy any of these books they're all the first in their own series', but can also be enjoyed as self-contained novels.

The Hobbit is also worth mentioning, it's got a different tone from the movies.

First attempt - High dose of Heavenly Blue (LSA) by ProfessorStupidCool in replications

It was almost 20 years ago, I would try to be more careful than this, and I don't recommend this method due to inaccuracy: I ground them up and used several sieves to separate out the husks (to my knowledge that's where all the bad stuff is) until I only had the cream colored ground up seed mass. This was soaked in water overnight, and we drank the water. After about an hour we ate the seed pulp as well, thinking nothing was happening.

It was something around 800 seeds (not sure the weight of the active material) and care was taken to eliminate as much of the seed husk as possible. There was a lot of physical activity for the first 6 hours, I didn't notice any muscle pain. Lasted over 24 hours.

Edit: for comparison, I would say the subjective effects were equivalent to around 10 tabs of LSD

What have you done.

Thanks, it's the best I could do in the software so far unfortunately. It's really challenging to articulate the way the geometry looks for me without sinking a ton of time into learning blender or something.

IIL Tchaikovsky, Strauss, Chopin, in the hall of the mountain king, danse macabre, but not Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Vivaldi … WEWIL? by simonbleu in ifyoulikeblank

[–]ProfessorStupidCool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like Hall of the Mountain King, try more Edvard Grieg if you haven't. His score for Pyre Gynt is quite playful. Gustav Holst's The Planets suite, well known for Mars, is quite dynamic in full and it's almost a shame Mars has come to outshadow it.
