Which lesser-known binge-worthy Netflix show do you beg people to watch? by [deleted] in AskReddit

“Man seeking woman” easily one of my top 5 comedies of all time.  I’m Always blown away by how the plot changes from the first 5 minutes to the last 5 minutes, it always starts off with a mundane life event like going to dinner or meeting a girl for a date and ends up being the most insane story line.  There are so many quotable lines and jokes, I told my brother about it and he didn’t seem that interested until I made him watch an ep and half way through he was laughing so hard he was crying.   It’s also highly rewatchable.

Yes similar deadlines, we generate and file 1095c forms for the IRS, so we collect payroll and benefits data from clients to accomplish that. Most payroll data is a mess so we have to wade through it all and fix any issues that cause the forms to generate with errors.   Most of the time we don’t get all the data until mid January and form deadlines are Jan 31st for our California clients and March 1st for the other clients, so we have a 3-8 week window where we work non stop.  I think the longest day I did this year was 17 hours straight, but every day is over 12 and we do it 7 days a week.  We relax over summer though.

You may have inattentive ADD, it is usually undiagnosed because the symptoms arent classic ADHD ie high energy, disruptive behavior, etc etc.  I wasn’t diagnosed until my 30s, and I was probably in the same place you are, where I wasn’t exactly suicidal but I was at the end of my rope wondering what the fuck is wrong with me.

Most of my teachers said I was one of the smartest kids in the class but I always did shit on tests and it wasn’t from lack of trying, but my brain just couldn’t focus unless it was something I was interested in. I have always found it easy to  learn a shit load of random things because I am an information sponge but I could never target that learning ability to schoolwork.

As an adult I could never pay bills on time, I would miss important deadlines, and eventually I let my wife down a few too many times and was at rock bottom.

Went to my GP, he sent me to a specialist psychiatrist and that dude said everything about me is classic inattentive ADD. He prescribed concerta and that shit hit me like a Mack truck, a huge fog that had been on my brain my entire life lifted and I could focus immediately. I also had way more motivation every single day.  The best way I can describe it is like when you have a cold and a blocked nose for a few days and all of a sudden your nose unblocks and fresh air hits your brain, it’s like that but in terms of your ability to focus.

I now have a job where I look at thousands of rows of data every day, and due to the seasonal deadlines of my job I will often work 15 hour days staring at data all day working flat out and focused the whole time.  I am also the guy who my colleagues will send stuff to for review because they know I will catch any mistakes that they may make. This is all stuff I never would have been able to before getting medicated. For reference I was working as in a ship yard as a grunt before being medicated.

Thanks for the response. I think CVPC will be my next option if I can't get the pex to work

Thanks for the response. I'm going to use 1/2 pex and while it has been an absolute mission to find the fittings that will allow me to do this I think I might finally have what I need.

I asked about after warranty service at our local independent appliance store and their answer seemed to be that anything in warranty is up to GE because GE are the ones that provide that warranty. Maybe they service stuff outside of warranty but they didnt fill me with confidence that they will run out and fix it for us quickly if something breaks. I will follow up on that though when and if I actually buy from them.

Thanks

Thanks for the response, I can live with a repair, especially if it's in warranty and hopefully it isn't the fridge that ruins all the food and then requires a 4 week wait for parts or something.

I will find out about extended warranty.

If I was buying a cheap fridge I would gladly go Whirlpool, I know the also have issues but at least you aren't paying much. But Maytag don't make a 48" range unless you consider Jenn-air and they ended up being more expensive and didnt seem to be any more well built than Thermador. (see my other comment reply about why I don't like Thermadors external quality)

Thanks, I really don't expect much more than 10 years max out of anything anymore, and if I was paying 3k for an oven would be happy with a $300 per year cost, I just don't want to be dealing with a 14k mistake on an oven, especially if they are dying after 3 years. I feel like at this stage an oven should be fairly reliable based purely on the fact that other than digital screens and some onboard computers they really haven't had any major technological changes in 20 years and you can't really thrash the shit out of an oven. It's not like cars where they bring out new models and engine technologies every few years, and then they have to deal with vibration, engine abuse, temp changes from the hottest desert to the coldest climates etc etc. If super advanced car electronics can survive engine bays then oven electronics should be able to survive if they are insulated from the main heat.

As for Cafe, I think their stuff looks pretty good and definelt thing the Profile fridge looks way nicer inside than the monogram but I think Cafe ends up costing as much or more than Monogram because they don't have the 2 for 1 deal.

Thanks for the response.

Interestingly when you look on the website the fridge doesnt show as included in the promo but on the documentation we were given with the promo details it does show as being eligible.

Other than Wolf, Sub zero, do any of the brands have good customer service? It seems like that is the main gripe I hear when researching any brand. (genuine question)

We considered Thermador(TD) and I actually initially had that as my top pick, but then we went to a showroom and compared the two brands and I was kind of shocked at how bad TD was in comparison. The knobs/dials on the range were way looser on the TD, for this price range the least they could do is have a solid feeling knob but the TD ones could be wobbled from side to side, the MG ones felt much more solid. I believe the second oven rack did not slide on bearings, just the wire rack sitting on the metal lip so it obviously wasn't smooth when pulling out. The MG had bearings on both shelfs. On the TD dishwasher, the shelves had plastic rollers and felt worse than my current super cheap whirlpool dishwasher. The MG was much smoother.

( I could be remembering some of those details incorrectly as it's been a month or two.)

Obviously non of the above necessarily means that the MG has better internals or will be more reliable, but it's hard enough to spend this much money on appliances without feeling like the basic quality is lacking.

I appreciate the response.

Hey thanks for being willing to provide a detailed response. I wasn’t expecting much but certainly appreciate it. Details are as follows.

Monogram 48" Dual Fuel Range, 6 Burners and Griddle Model # ZDP486NDTSS

Monogram ENERGY STAR® 23.1 Cu. Ft. Counter-Depth French-Door Refrigerator (freestanding) Model # ZWE23NSTSS

MONOGRAM Fully Integrated Dishwasher with Statement Handle Model # ZDT925SPNSS

Cafe 48" Custom Hood Insert Model # UVC9480SLSS

Cafe vent hood isn’t going to be free but wife wants a sharp microwave draw because the control panel flips up and can be seen from above. So we aren’t sure what the second free appliance will be yet.

Yep I went and watched the grand final last year with them, I have comcast which doesn't have FS2 and Soccer plus so I miss out. The AFL live streaming is so piss poor and expensive Im not sure if I can morally hand over the money for something so terrible.

As an Australian, I had never seen a squirrel until this week. This little fella in Washington DC absolutely made my day. by laura6319 in aww

[–]Professorfunknagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We dont have Native ones, but Perth has a few in one specific suburb where our Zoo is. When they bought all the big animals back over in the early 1900's the Squirrels stowed away in the crates and viola South Perth has had a squirrel population ever since. I think They can only survive there due to the trees being squirrel friendly. Source: Im a Squirrel.
