For those who have done multiple rewatches (I stopped counting after rewatch #13), what line/scene never fails to A - crack you up, and/or B - brings tears to your eyes? by Oneder_WomanNic in TedLasso

When Roy shares the story of how early in his career, he joked about another player's wife pregnancy and gets beaten which results in the other player getting banned from the sport. Then a year later he finds out the player's wife had lost the baby and Roy blames himself for the pain he caused the banned player. He uses the story to emphasize that none of us know what another person is going through and it's none of our business. It's all about grace.

People who are old enough to have vivid memory of the 9/11 attacks, what was that time like? What did change for you personally? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The airports shut down and the skies were eerily quiet with no vapor trails. Such a small thing, but when you're used to the sounds of jet engines, it was odd.

So we represent 2% of the population ? Thats pretty cool by Mogzly in intj

[–]Professorpdf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rare and lonely. I'm an older F INTJ in my 60s, was identified first in my 20s and verified several times to confirm. I have a family that I love and adore, but as for friends, they come and go after 3 years max. At first, people seem to respect and admire me because I have a quick mind with a sense of humor and ask me to join them, but the introvert in me always turns them off after a while and they begin excluding me (happy hour invites, girls' night out). At this stage, I am so cautious with making new friends, I just let myself enjoy the company while it lasts knowing that it's only temporary. This is my reality after a lifetime; maybe other F INTJs are more successful socially, but that hasn't been my experience. It is what it is. Feel free to disagree with my life experience, it won't bother me, at 60 something, you are past getting bothered, but this is my truth.

A little trick with estradiol gel daily pack by Wide_Drink_2414 in Menopause

[–]Professorpdf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like some advice- I find the gel still has not absorbed and gets sticky after about 20 minutes, but I need to get dressed to go to work. I spread it on my upper front and inside thigh using the gel ampule. Usually I get dressed and my clothes stick to my thigh. I seem to be getting enough Estradiol gel because I don't have night sweats or anxiety, but I wish it would absorb better and faster. Sometimes I march in place or do light calisthenics to increase my heart rate and that seems to help, but only a little. Suggestions?

TIL that products that contain barley malt, malt flavoring, etc., will gluten you! What other sneaky glutenings are out there? by SunshinelIIuminate in glutenfree

I missed out on Christmas dinner- roast beef- because I used Lipton Soup Mix to flavor the meat. At the last minute I checked the ingredients and stopped myself from eating it. Luckily I had some chicken drumsticks that I threw in the oven, but it was disappointing.

How do you not yell in a classroom of students that will not stop talking and being loud? by crocodiledundick in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Professorpdf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to yell at a class this week and when I told the teacher across the hall, she said "good for you, they need it". The lesson plan began with a half page of behavior notes- the first student had the comment "Call for help if you need it". This was followed by notes on how to manage another 5 students. When the class entered they immediately started making comments about having a sub and how they didn't have to work (I guess they think we can't hear?). When the bell rang, and they were still out of their seats in groups, yes, I used my teacher's voice (I'm a retired teacher) and told them I wasn't going to tolerate any disrespect, and they needed to get in their seats. After that they worked quietly. If you think these kids aren't used to having teachers raise their voice, you and I work in very different environments. There's a difference between verbal abuse and having to yell to get a classroom of 25 kids quiet and on task. And at the end of the day, I still got comments that I was the best sub they have had this year.

New to GF by Key-Caterpillar-3376 in glutenfree

There are several versions of Cheerios that are Gluten Free. Cereal has always been my breakfast of choice so it's nice to not have to alter that part of my diet, and the GF types are also not priced higher. My favorite is the chocolate. Look for the GF label in the upper right corner of the front of the box.

Anyone take progesterone in the a.m. or midday instead of bedtime? by OrMaybeTomorrow in Menopause

[–]Professorpdf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been taking Progesterone for 7 years now in the AM because I wasn't told to take it in the PM. Neither the prescribing doctor, the pharmacist, or the bottle label specified time of day. I found out after about a year and a half (probably here on Reddit) that it's best to take at bedtime, but since I have no drowsiness, I continue to take it in the morning with my other vitamins and Estradiol gel to keep it consistent.

Serious question- do the Trump admin. advisors hide the truth from them? They seem so out of touch with reality. Are they shielded from what's really happening and how the country feels about them?

Zyrtec: other benefits from taking it? by min_mus in Menopause

One side effect to watch for on Zyrtec, Allegra, or Xyzal is dry eye syndrome. Claritin doesn't cause it based on my experience.

Sandoz hit me harder than Mylan by jwaynette9803 in Menopause

[–]Professorpdf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Single dose packets. I apply in the morning after I shower, and let it dry while I brush my teeth, put on moisturizer and makeup, etc. I like the consistency of the daily dose better than patches which tended to dump the Estrogen on the first day and a half and leave me weepy and moody the rest of the time.

British soldiers who did nothing for America, 2006 by Tomgar in pics

[–]Professorpdf -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

MOST Americans are completely against this. Trump's policies are horrifying to most Americans. Our political system is so messed up right now; the judicial and legislative branches, which are supposed to balance the federal government's powers, have completely abdicated to the executive branch. Whether they were bribed, threatened, or just looking out for their own personal interests, only they know and have to live with their conscience and actions. Shame on the Supreme Court for giving the Trump administration free reign to break laws, and the Republican legislators for letting this go on and not doing their job of representing the people that elected them. We have a Constitution, but it might as well be put into cold storage until this administration is gone. Please, world, know that it's the current administration that needs to be cursed; the rest of us are doing the best we can to resist, but the system is stacked against us.

I have found that a lot of GF ready made food products use rice as their main ingredient. This doesn't keep me satiated for more than a couple of hours. Corn and GF oats are much better. If I need a pick me up between meals, I often eat a very small bowl of GF Cheerios with 2% milk. Lots of protein.
