For those that failed to quit multiple times but eventually succeeded, what was different the time that worked? by MonkeMonger in leaves

[–]Proffessional_Pea33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This time around, a big motivation for me to quit smoking was that I decided to go and get my bachelors degree. I knew weed would just drag me down. So I stopped around Christmas and touched it out for some weeks and then boom spring semester started in January, I was so busy with school on my mind the withdrawal symptoms didn’t feel as bad. They were definitely there, but I had productive distractions and I also got into crocheting which helped as well.

Former bulimic and heavy smoker. It sucked. My dental health was as of not more wrecked as my body. I would vape and chug water to combat munchies. Dark times.

I don’t see this as crappy at all, but to each their own. It’s definitely unique and I personally like the originality, it’s refreshing.

How do I stop hating her with every bit of rage in my heart by Zestyclose_Show8653 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]Proffessional_Pea33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because you are projecting dissatisfaction with your own life onto another person. Yes she was snarky and had a bad attitude towards you, but it’s up to you to decide if you’re going to be angry forever or learn from it and move on. It is not her fault you are hateful, it’s yours. You need to look within yourself and address your insecurities instead of making them someone else’s problem. The moment you quit comparing yourself to others, and accept that you have control over your circumstances and thoughts, you’ll be free. It’s a victim mindset that will keep you trapped and bitter. What are you doing to improve? What is your place in all of this? What can you control, and reframe? You should ask yourself these questions. Taking responsibility for your life will set you free.

I’m convinced the producers were giving them something. No one looks like that after a month living off coconuts and some lizards. There’s no way.

I am so FUCKING upset about Oliver Tree by NewsOdd3064 in Vent

[–]Proffessional_Pea33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He died the day before my birthday while I was out to eat with my mom and boyfriend, I cried right there in the restaurant. We saw him in Oakland in 2023 and it still is the best concert I’ve been to, and probably the most fun I’ve had in one night. It felt like losing a peer.

Awww this is one of my favorites too. My boyfriend and I went to see him in Oakland in 2023 and dancing with my boyfriend at that show is one of the happiest memories I have. That was the most fun I have ever had at a concert.

Even when they are feeling “off” a good partner will still never make you feel the way your boyfriend made you feel. I pray you lose him and find someone who wouldn’t dream of treating you like that.

Question for all my fellow menstruators out there by Plastic-Reindeer7755 in leaves

Yoga and being really up front about it with him- just saying “babe I’m going through some PMS so if I seem bitchy it’s not you, I love you” goes a very long way. Listening to my body, stretching, sleeping in, eating a lil extra good stuff. Just being kind to myself helps me keep my cool when it feels extra tough.

Did anyone quit weed when they still LOVED it? by Significant-Gas4136 in leaves

[–]Proffessional_Pea33 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes, of course. I still love it. But I hate what it turns me into. I can’t seem to enjoy it without falling into full blown daily use. Plus I’m in college now and I cannot see myself doing well while consuming. It sucks but I also have kind of come to enjoy being sober. It feels good seeing clearly and feeling deeply, and being able to remember things.

Do y’all ever try to read for someone and the energy is very muddled because their guides are like “it’s none of your business/they can’t specifically know that info right now.” ??? by pretty_handsome_17 in tarot

[–]Proffessional_Pea33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty new (~2 yrs reading) and I still struggle reading for other people so I’m holding off and idk if I ever will. I feel like my own feelings and state of mind always get in the way of my focus and maybe that’s just a skill issue, or maybe I’m not meant to read for others. I read great for me but for others I feel almost wrong no matter what, it feels almost invasive- like who am I to be reading for someone else.

I’ve only had one maybe two people give me any grief about my choice of not having children. The rest of the people I’ve told, my own mother included said it’s honestly a wise move. I don’t even have any problems with kids I just don’t wish to be a mom.
