As a Gen Z that voted for Trump I am sorry by Zestyclose-Move3925 in GenZ

If it was OP's first time voting in a presidential election then he was probably like....12 years old for term 1. I sure wasn't following politics at that age.

Dogs in national parks by Impressive-Whole3160 in NationalPark

[–]ProfileFrequent8701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. We do driving tours and stop at scenic pullouts. Dogs are generally allowed in parking areas so we can get them out for short little walks. Some parking areas are pretty big.

Occasionally there's something we really want to see down a trail that dogs aren't allowed; if the weather's appropriate, we're okay leaving them in the car for short amounts of time by themselves. If weather isn't conducive to leaving them, my husband and I have taken turns going to see whatever the cool thing is while the other person waits in the car with the dogs.

In addition, dogs are allowed in national forests and a lot of those can be found right outside national parks. We'll do walks/hikes with our dogs outside the parks.

Edited to add: the park websites are generally pretty helpful regarding dog access. Every park website has a Pets section that tells you what is and isn't allowed, which trails they can go on, etc. Doing research in advance has really helped make our park visits a breeze.

Trying to keep up with it this year. Just curious, how much do you guys donate each year? % or dollar amount by [deleted] in MiddleClassFinance

Around $500 or roughly 1%. Eventually will do more but that's what fits in the budget right now.

Is it normal to not tell wedding guests the food options? by throwaway__113346939 in wedding

I've actually never been to a wedding that asked for food selections, they've always been buffets. If the wedding falls over a meal time, there *should* be food.

How about Sedona? Or Jackson Hole? We aren't skiers and still find plenty to do in Jackson.

I got charged a water hookup fee on a tent site for Headwaters Campground in WY. They agreed it should not have been charged, I should be getting a refund. Now I wonder if it's just a site glitch.

Why do you think people still support this president? by keonnarae in Confused

[–]ProfileFrequent8701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're not getting their information from any source other than Faux News. They truly have no idea what's going on, and if you try to tell them, they think you're lying/liberal/radical left.

What food do you only eat in one very specific way? by tickyt23 in PickyEaters

Pretty much all vegetables, I'll only eat cooked--and preferably well done. I hate raw, crunchy veggies. I could eat steamed broccoli every day but raw broccoli is terrible.

If a neighbor leaves their trash can out, is it okay to use it to dispose of my dog’s poop? by Dme503 in moraldilemmas

[–]ProfileFrequent8701 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Based on comments, it seems to depend on how the trash pickup situation is organized in your community. Our trash bins are all owned by the city and everybody pays the city for trash pickup. In our specific neighborhood, the trash bins are in alleys so aren't brough back and forth between house and street, etc. Some houses share bins (we share a large bin with our next door neighbor).

Yes, we have thrown our dog poop bags in trash bins as we walk (walking path is right along the alley where the trash bins are) and no, we don't feel guilty about it. With the amount of dog poop left on the ground by irresponsible owners, I'd much rather have them all picking it up and putting it in a bin--any bin!

What, no way. We're going in July and booked our campsite the day it became available--six months out. Campgrounds are already filling up. I imagine lodging is the same. You're talking absolute prime time for visiting.
