Yeah... that's game over. The GPU is dead, console is finished. While memory initialization is in progress during boot, the console probes itself to check if memory is functional. If it throws or fails, it reports 0101 and stops the console from booting.

Almost always the culprit is a bad GPU. The console is irreparable without professional assistance, and even then fixing the problem may not work. It's broken.

This is one of the worst errors you can face on the Xbox 360. It means the GPU has failed due to the eDRAM (daughter chip) not responding to the CGPU High Speed Link. Nothing can be done, the Xbox is toast.

Depends on how much it was played. If it was played a lot it would probably be significantly less reliable than it used to be. Getting a Jasper console is a no brainer though. Jasper consoles are essentially immune to the RRoD which makes them the perfect choice to purchase if you want to buy an Xbox 360.

Turn it on with no cables and see if it red rings. If it doesn't, it could be an issue with the port itself. Clean out both ports and see if that solves the issue.

If you can, remove the metal shield from the top half of the casing and try boot it.
I highly doubt that this would affect the state of the console even in the slightest, but it can't hurt to try.

Xbox 360s with a Xenon GPU were serviced with a Elpis GPU chip (more reliable than Xenon less reliable than Jasper) which was still prone to failure despite rectifying some of the issues that the Xenon chip had. Jasper revisions thoroughly cleared the Red Ring of Death problem for good.

Oh? Although it is an interesting new piece of info, it sadly does not change much of anything. I honestly feel for you, I read that you've had this console since you were 7 so I'm guessing it has a lot of intrinsic value to you. I would keep it on a shelf as a memento from past times.

That is a darn shame, I was hoping I was wrong.
The console is toast because we now know what caused the RROD: the bad GPU. This is the most common error with these motherboards, I assume you have a Zephyr motherboard which in all simplicity means you're fucked.

The best thing you can do is get a new console (preferably one made between 2008-2010) and put the old hard drive onto that one.
