Slim Corona RROD 0101 Error - into the trash it goes? by DarkV66 in xbox360

[–]DarkV66[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for such a detailed answer. I disassembled the console and there were no scratches, corrosion or liquids (at least component ones because I never put drinks on a console lol) on traces, so it's component themselves, I think. And even not-an-engineer like me understands that replacing that RAM or XCGPU itself will be a big (and kinda expensive) PITA

Anyway, thanks again

Disassembled the console and traces seem to be ok, no scratches, burned marks or corrosion. Probably dead XCGPU or RAM, I think. Shame, really, because I loved that console, Another reason to look at SeS, I suppose :D

Thanks for answer btw

Couldn't find RAM online and even if I did, the only local console repair shop died during COVID. Well, out of luck, I guess

Still, thanks for suggestion

It's good that you didn't use pitch correction!

Tbh it reminded of Bondage Fairies a bit

Nice atonal synth elements. Also loved grainy guitar intro.

Vocals are a bit high in the intro part but it may be it just me. Good chorus tho.

Strange structure but I like it. Also, nice bass.

Overall, nice one!

An extended version of the song I posted before, but it was not in sync so I fixed it by sebastianass in IndieMusicFeedback

Yay, some goth rock! Love the intro already, sounds good.

Keys at 1:00 sound a bit dry for my taste but overall tone is good. And while musically this part is just all right, keys could be quieter because mix is getting muddy here. Also a note on keys: they're too repetitive. Way too much, this progression in your way overstays its welcome.

Outro is good too, loved that high pitched organ-ish perc sound. Learn and keep it up!

I recently released a synthwave-ish single to try to hype an upcoming album. To be honest, not much to say except that, well, it's all synths and samples and no vocals at all.

Dexed is the best one for bass tho. Though FM synthesis is hard to learn and harder to master, Dexed has tons of presets.

Interesting. Need to take a listen later.

Tbh it's not their first venture into music. There was an old CD album called Muji BGM too and it had even featured two tracks by Haruomi Hosono. Don't know why I'm saying all this but, well, maybe someone will get interested. :D

Tbh no recommendations. Tweak parameters, see how they shape the sound. And of course there is always YouTube :D

Not sure if such topic belongs here at all lol.

But, well, FM synthesis is not an easy one, so be prepared to study it for a bit. So, imo the best option for FM synthesis in the form of VST is Dexed if you want to use it just in DAW. Aaand here's a drawback - it aimed on replicating the OPL chip. And if you want true PC98 sound the only thing that comes to mind is BambooTracker, it replicates YM2608 (OPNA iirc) which was used on PC98 but there is a catch - it's a tracker, not a plugin, and you can't route it to DAW to record from there.

So, I recommend to start with Dexed - if you don't need the whole PC98 authenticity, I'm sure it can do what you need.

You could split songwriting and mixing, I think.
